Porsche drops first production Taycan images in official camo!

We know the suicide doors won’t happen. Was it due to lack of rigidity? (no B pillar)

I’d love Königsegg doors

I think it has to do with dimensions.
An RX8 (metal) and i3 (carbon fibre) have small rear doors.
A Taycan is a lot longer, a B-pillar can also be a door that connects to the body, I don't see a problem there.
Maybe a choice in weight/construction or still an issue with safety regulations.
Anyway, it would have been cool.
I'm just processing the minor disappointments but I'm sure the specs and interior will be great!

I won't miss center lock wheels or suicide doors. I have center lock wheels on my 911 Carrera GTS and they're just a pain in the a....
But I'm afraid they will be on the most expensive model, just like 911 Turbo and GT3

What’s the hassle with’em?

What use are centerlock wheels on the street anyways?
It's only a fashion purpose really.
And if you have them, how often do you change the wheels anyway?
Are you sure you put the right torque on them and use proper thread agent, also on the bed of the centerlock nut?
Never had any problem with them.

They must be a PITA with a flat. Call the flatbed take it only to a Porsche Dealer. No thanks. Not worth it IMO

I think you guys are missing the "sneak peek" all together. The only sneak peek here is in the first image. It's the tiny part of the white car you see between the gap in the doors. It appears to be in the paint inspection room.

Not very inspiring in these shots. A bit of Frankenstein with all of the cladding. I’d almost rather just wait for the real deal. That way I could make a rational decision. This version just doesn’t do it.

I think the detailing is where cladding is very misleading. The profile and silhouette will I suspect be mostly unchanged - though judging by that first pic, that's no bad thing. I suspect where the finished product will differ significantly is in terms of the detailing

Not sure why Porsche marketing is releasing these camo photos. They are really nothing like the concept Mission E. If it is to lower expectations they are succeeding with me but they are lowering expectations so much that the excitement is leaving and so is my likelihood of actually buying a Taycan. At this point I am sure I will have to actually see one in person to pull the trigger on a purchase.

I agree completely. The teaser video looks like the Mission e. These photos look like a Panamera. I’m in the same position. Porsche is playing games. I’d rather wait to see the car in person.

That's the only real comfort in this, that the silhouette of the teaser is gonna be from the teaser videos. Not sure what to believe anymore, to be honest - just remembering that because of the dimensions it will look at least as good as the E-Tron GT, if not better

I just wonder, though. The so called teaser video images look so promising ,yet the camouflage mush mash Porsche just released look like a huge mistake on their part. I believe they will see serious customer erosion if they hue too far from the prototype IMO
