Brake calliper in front of axle instead of the traditional Porsche placement of behind axle. Wonder why?

The Taycan will for sure weight in around 2.5 tons so air suspension it must have.
Explain the advantage of air suspension on a heavy car for someone who doesn't understand the benefit of air suspension on a sports car.

there is none except that the weight disadvantage is maybe not as noticeable..............so you can let yourself be frivolous since the the thing already weighs 2500kgs.......

personally i would try to reduce all weight possible to lower the 2500 to something more palatable for a “sporty” car......... kind of like TESLA has done on the model 3 in comparison to the model S, hence a MUCH more fun car to drive!

Shit! I thought at least 2 tons! So 2,5 - that's veeeery heavy! That's even more than my Merc R-class which is a freakin' hippo @ 2,3 tons :D IMO a real deal sports car should be under 1 ton. I had the pleasure of a day's driving some years back in a Radical Prosport 500. It weighs 500 kg and does 0-60 in 2,8 secs. Slicks. Boy that was fun! :D I was very close to pulling the trigger on a Model S when they first arrived. But the test drive killed my urge. Way too heavy, you could really feel the weight bouncing the car in the corners (even with the firmest setting). And of course the way too "digital" dash and no erousing sound.

So I then thought I'd either get a Cayman or a pro gokart. I figuered I'd very seldom get to really drive that Cayman - there's so much traffic and speed traps everywhere these days. So I went for a gokart and never looked back! I can assure you that's fun! 80 kg and slicks! It's so fast around the bends you almost get car sick! :D

Advantages with air suspension (and shocks):
-Can adjust ride height, it also does this automatically
-Does not lean over in corners
-Very smooth & comfortable. But you can also set it in "sport" and firm up the shocks

Disadvantages:
-Lots of stuff that can and will break = lot more costly over time vs springs

Never driven a Panamera, but I've read that Porsce is good at "hiding" the weight - so I'm sure they will nail that also with the Taycan.

Or buy a BMW 8-series Gran Coupe - dunno the prices or if it comes in an electric variant, but if you want a fast, beautiful 4-door saloon you couldn't go wrong with that

Hmmm ... sounds a little disappointing ... too much a copy of petrol engine sound and too less electricity ... too much bass ... too less treble .. it seems Porsche "filtered the dentist sound" (direct quote Porsche) a little too much

Maybe it's a sound generator and part of the camouflage but I like it. Sounds powerful and like a spaceship. I think you will be able to turn it on and off. Porsche said it will not be a artificial sound but technology related. I hope so.

Hmm.
I am feeling less enthused after watching this video, not more.

Perhaps it was my fault that the mission e prompted my early deposit.
That car, I do look upon fondly; but it is not reality.

Not a huge fan of the sound, but what do you expect - it's an electric car. I really hope the wraparound taillights are in the production version, and just covered up in the prototype.

First of all, there will be a safety reason for this sound generators. Mid of 2019 all new electric vehicles in EU, have to create a sound giving people with visual impairment a chance to recognize the vehicle. People have to realize breaking or speeding up of the electric vehicles. I think there will be some options in the future for your individual sound..............

This line worries me aesthetically as it was much crisper and 911-like on the Mission-e. Now it has become the line that is most Panamera like and I do understand that they need headroom in the back seat but, they did go to great length and gouge out big holes in the battery skateboard to lower the backseats significantly to the detriment of range. With that I would have hoped they could have kept the crisper Mission-e line...... so I guess black will not be my color of choice at least not with tinted windows since the uniformity of it accentuates this unfortunate ergonomic line.......
I feel that line bears a much greater resemblance to Audi's E Tron GT concept than it does to the Panamera

Also in that video look at 2:09 and 1:22. In neither of these points does it even closely resemble a Panamera - I mean, instead of the Panamera's hunchback, the tail looks a bit more Aston-Martin ish - and the flat deck boot looks really attractive. I'm sad it isn't going to look 100% identical to the concept, but it still looks like a four-door supercar.

Also bear in mind this mule has a very raised ride height - note the giant gaps between the wheels and the arches. The actual car will sit a lot closer to the ground
