I'm one of the weird ones I guess...
I don't need a 4 door. I'm single with no kids.
I LOVED the Mission E even though it was a 4 door in part because the suicide doors threw my eye off just enough to where it didn't look like an obvious 4 door.
It's why recently I've said that even with the design now, if they just didn't make the door handles look like every other door handle in the world, and maybe flush mounted them with touch sensors like Tesla is doing, that maybe they could still keep that "is it a 2 door or 4 door?" look.
At least then it would be more appealing to me personally. Even with the slim haunches.

But really, we are all either complaining about it looking like crap (compared to what we were sold on, and even to this very day sold on as they continue to trot out the Mission E) or we are saying that it's "good enough."

But let me ask you this... when you think Porsche, do you think "eh, it's good enough", or do you think that you're buying an amazing piece of art?

That is the biggest issue. I believe dropping $100k+ USD for "eh, it's good enough" is a hard PASS for me. I'd rather spend $200k USD for "Holy shit, this is legit one of the sexiest cars ever!" (new Tesla Roadster). Why settle for good enough?

I tell you what, walk up to your wife and say "you know, I suppose you're good enough" and see her reaction. That's what Porsche is trying to sell us by trotting out the Mission E yet giving us a hybrid of Mission E and Panamera. To me, good enough = I'll keep my money. Wow = I'll throw my money at you like Motley Crue threw money at strippers! Make it rain Porsche, make it rain!!!

It looks amazing here, maybe we've been a bit too harsh on it. It looks really good in these two pics

That parked on the highway? Or the worlds fastest shutter speed to get wheels so frozen in time that even the logo is crystal clear? lol
Looks better than mules for sure as less taped on panels.
Still want to see it without ford/chevy/honda/toyota/everyone else door handles. But it definitely looks better than mules.

I know.
I made this one. ;)
Dee, I think you hit is spot on. Well I hope so anyway, but actually not enough place for regulation reverse lights....In any case, thats a good looking rear end for a 4 door sports sedan, not fat rear end of the Panamera.

Silly me, I forgot the best looking angle

That is the best looking angle. Still want flush door handles, but hey, you never know, right? But infinitely better than mules. Not sure I still proceed with purchase, but at least I'm not wanting to vomit in my mouth anymore.
Was it "What about Bob" with the "baby steps" ??? haha

In a weird way, I kinda prefer these door handles. What I'm glad to see porsche didn't lose is that sense that you got with the Mission E, that if you were to squint (ignoring the door handles) by virtue of its profile, you'd mistake it for a 2-door sports coupe.

This is the best angle - where the ride height is normal, instead of jacked up unreasonably high (for testing I'm assuming)

Did you guys notice the lower piece under the doors between the wheels?
That's new, never seen before!
Looks a bit like......ehr...... Mission E!
Other old pics had it covered up so I was curious how it looked underneath!

I think I'll do some Photoshop tomorrow cuz of the headlights.
I'll be back.

Do it with this pic :) Most of the pictures I found on carscoops (with the exceptions - I think - of those i posted) have the Taycan's ride height jacked up to a ridiculous level - maybe for testing purposes or something? And that's one of the few pics where the ride height is at a normal level

Took this photo from another website.....
I believe some of the changes that "panamerized" the Taycan are simple points of practicality to make it a true 4 or 5 passenger car. The photo from the Soul Electrified ad shows the huge flared rear fenders which take almost as much space as the passenger area.
So to add interior space, the beautiful concept design was dramatically watered down for practicality purposes.

In the other photo, he roofline in the rear area was also raised, again giving it a more Panamera look, but again, it gives head room for the tall Norwegians, Dutch and Germans.....lol It looks like the all the curves, including the front windshield were dramatically toned down and made smaller, baffles me why, but perhaps to be more in line with the rear, give and again give more space in the front passenger area. And the front trunk lid appears to be lengthened without as sharp of a drop and like the windshield, less rounded.

The bottom line, its definitely a toned down Mission E design, and but probably wrong to call it a an electrified Panamera, but its looking good, just not out of this world beautiful and original like the Mission E was. After all, all Porsche's of any year have similarities, and thats WHY they are ALL recognizable instantaneously and are a great brand for appearance alone, not to mention amazing quality and performance.

I do hope it is smaller than the Panamera and not so wide. Years ago I almost bought the Panamera, but the vehicle was too wide for my high-rise condo parking spot!!!!!! literally had 1.5 inches on each side of the vehicle!

I read a few weeks ago that Taycan is 5+ cm wider than Panamera. Sorry
