Since there are still a lot of speculations about the car...I thought I'll start a little Q&A session to give you a bit more insights about it.

So feel free to ask any Taycan related questions - I'll do my best to answer them all ;)

Please remind: I won't leak any sensitive and still undefined informations!

Kind regards

I noticed in the teaser official Porsche ad that the back light bar lit up across the rear without any break for the trunk opening. clearly now that's not the case. so what was being used in the porsche promo? just the old concept ?

Three questions:
1) I noticed the latest Taycan mules have a metal trim piece between the front door and the front wheels. Is this something that will make it to production? (Not a real fan of this from the pictures I've seen)
2) The initial specs on the Taycan is 0 to 100 Kph is "less than" 3.5 seconds. Have you heard anything more detailed on this?
3) Can you comment on your thoughts when you compare the finished production Taycan to the Mission-E concept?

Thanks in advance for the information.

Here are my questions:
  1. When the car is set to maximum recuperation mode will the brake lights be illuminated during deceleration?

  2. Will there be any type of pass through to the trunk for skis, long objects, etc?

  3. Will the car come without a sun roof?

  4. Is a trailer hitch available for bike rack or cargo rack?

  5. Does the Taycan have a tow rating?

  6. Range for base Taycan?

  7. Range for Taycan S?

  8. Ride height for base Taycan?

  9. Ride height for Taycan S? Is the air suspension height adjustable?

  10. Battery options for base Taycan and Taycan S

  11. Delivery schedules for Base & S and availability of both models?

  12. Is automatic forward collision braking standard as in the Cayenne?

  13. What driver assistance aids will be provided?

  14. Length of supplied charging cable?

  15. Will a rear bench seat option be available as in the Panamera?

  16. Will rear wheel steering be standard on the S model?

1) Since the first announcement of level4 autonomous driving support it has been very silent. One can see now the Lidar sensor in the front and the technology has been borrowed from the AUDI A8. What is the status and plans going forward. Will the software be updated and upgraded to eventually allow Level 4?

2) The first announced charging rate of 350kW has been downgraded to 200kW. Are you still expect to unlock or upgrade early cars with that feature later on?

3) As you already borrow technology from AUDI what about using their heat reflecting Solar Sky color to reduce the energy needed for the AirCon?

1) which colors will be available? on which trim?

2) can you confirm that the onboard charger is 22 kW?

3) Does Porsche foresee "presentations" events for the people who made the pre-reservation (like to be invited to the world première, or similar) or they shall go to the Frankfurter Messe in September?

4) when the definitive pricing will be known?

Thanks for your proposal of this Q&A I really appreciate the initiative:like:

Hi PAG_J1!

Great idea .... most of my questions are listed above already ... so my onliest one is about lease :

I guess nearly none of the Taycans will be sold .... nearly all will be leased because nobody will buy a car with battery (at least my guess).
Do you know how Porsche will handle the lease factor? Their usual Porsche lease is pretty unacceptable with a factor of about 1,6 up to 1,7 (36mth/ 10k km p.y./ 0 EUR cash down) ... means if the Taycan Top S is about 170k EUR the monthly lease would be 2.7k EUR.
(e.g. Aston Martin offers at the moment a lease factor of 0,75 !!!! ... means you can get a new Vantage V8 for just 1.3k EUR p.m.)

Do you know if Porsche plans a special lease for the Taycan ?

P.S.: Be aware : Assange will be arrested for 175 years ....

Yes very nice initiative!

Is the initial offering range similar to what Porsche usually starts with within their different model ranges.... or is this launch more towards the top of the range variants ?

Only two questions: Which Model will be available first (Turbo/ Turbo S/ 4S/ S ) and what will be the price for the top Version.
Specially here in Austria/ EU.

Production car will have a Little break in the rear Lights (because of the trunk). But it's in fact so small, that you can just notice it from near.
The teaser was just created with an older Concept I think.

Thanks in advance for the information.
1.) The metal trim is just a sticker on the prototypes to mask the original design. It will be gone in the production car.
2.) I don't know the exactly numbers, but Porsche targeted a similiar time as the GT2RS for the Turbo S model.
3.) It's indeed very similiar. Nearly same front and rear Lights, similiar Interior. Just the bulg from the front mud guard won't be as high as on the Mission E. But all in all they've done a very good Job. I'm sure you guys will like the finished Version.

1.) I don't have the Information on that. Sadly I didn't had the opportunity to drive the production car.
2.) Yes, I'm pretty sure with a 3 car seat option in the back, that should be possible (look for answer 15.)
3.) Optional. I was once in a production Taycan with a panorama glass roof.
4.) I don't have any Information about that feature.
5.) No Information.
6.) & 7.) Around 350-500 km (depends on the driving style).
8.) 9.) Can't say more Details About it. But it will have the Porsche 4D Chassis Control.
10.) Can't say exact numbers. Around 80-100 kWh batteries will be used.
11.) Can't say something about that.
12.) I don't know the specific standard Options and exclusive Options for the production model.
13.) The Taycan will also define a new age in term of smart mobility. It will be nearly all actual assistance Systems (optional) available. There will be also some new ones, like a recuperation Manager...
14.) No Information.
15.) I thought I saw that in a finished prodcution car...but I'm not 100 percent sure.
16.) No Information.

1.) Sorry can't say something about it right now.
2.) Could be possible. I don't have exact informations. But with the prototypes we've got charging rates over 300kW.
3.) That's not my sector, so I can't say something about that :D

1) which colors will be available? on which trim?

Thanks for your proposal of this Q&A I really appreciate the initiative:like:

1.) I don't have the final Options. But I saw the production model in a White, black, blue and red Color.
2.) AC 11/22 kW (Standard/Option); DC 50/150 kW (Standard/Option)
3.) The big dealers get the production cars normally 1-3 months after the world premiere. I don't have more specific informations about that topic.
4.) After world premiere ;)

I think it will be in the typical Porsche cycle. So first 4S/Turbo then Standard and then Turbo S.
I can't say something about the prices.

I don't have any information about that.

As I said above, I can't say soemthing about the pricing or lease factors. Sorry.
