Today my Porsche-Zentrum (dealer in Germany) called me and told me that the dealer presentation of the Taycan will be postponed to January 2020! Configuration may be available online by December. So for Germany there is now officially a delay no presentation at all in 2019 by dealers.

That's too bad. I wonder if this changes the likely Frankfurt auto show reveal in September?

Today I received an invitation from my Porsche dealer to the IAA for the exclusive Taycan presentation on September 14, 2019, so the Taycan will be presented at the IAA.

I hope that doesn’t mean they won’t show it on the 13th, that’s when I’ll be there!

Whew! Good news then, it looks right on schedule. Just that individual dealer presentations got pushed. Which doesn't mean production will be.

I’m excited to see the reveal even though this car may not be for me!
I think it will look good, albeit very much a sedan.

My dealer has said they've received ZERO information about the Taycan from Porsche. No training. No tools for the shop. No charging infrastructure. Nothing. They say this should have happened months ago if cars are supposedly arriving early 2020. He think car will definitely be delayed until late 2020. They say nothing is in place yet.

Do you remember the introduction of iPhone version 1 ?? ... I guess we Europeans had to wait nearly a half year until it arrived here ... so we pay back now

When the Mission E/Taycan introduction gets continually pushed back it does tend to throw cool water on everyone’s enthusiasm. Hard to keep hype going for multiple years IMO. But I guess better to have a good result rather that bring on a model which has a lot of quality issues. It would certainly damage Porsche's reliability image and really slow down sales of the new model.

I ordered a Macan when they first released it. Six months or more prior to the release my SA was sending emails from Barber after his training with biweekly updates. We’ve seen nothing like this with Taycan as per your post. I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see a significant delay.

That was for an order, though. None of us have actually ordered the vehicle itself.
