I have a BMW M6 Competition with 600hp and it is great. I will be considering the M8 Competition Gran Coupe but I want to see the final Taycan Turbo S first. Hopefully it will look like the E.
Yeah.

And hopefully they show us the Turbo S first

Yeah, I think the car's got a lot of camo on it still. I doubt the suicide doors will make it, but I'm sure that the Mission E spoiler will make it on the Taycan
I have read in mutliple locations that the suicide doors did not make it past the Mission E concept. Sad, so sad

Fellas! I'm on your side. I COMPLETELY AGREE, It is Apples & Oranges. Its two completely different cars. MY POINT WAS, In the case the TAYCAN does not meet
the expectations of many of the enthusiasts on this forum, do you have other considerations? The obvious Apples to Apples answer is TESLA, BMW I8,
waiting for the Tesla Roadster, Audi E Tron etc... If not and your primary objective is your dream car which may cross into the combustion cars too. is the new 992 - 911, Corvette C8, BMW M8, Mercedes AMG GT, Acura NSX, even Mclaren is about to give a 4 seat grand tour vehicle soon or any other newer cars a part of your short list?

Rather than focusing on the differences of the cars I solely meant to lay out NEWER CAR OPTIONS many buyers are considering. Having sat inside the Mission E
prototype here in LA about a year ago is what made me fall in love with the car. I'm hoping the end product is what we all hope it to be.

This looks like a great vehicle if it stays to that style. Have you seen any price points on this?

Go to one of the e-tron forums and I’m sure you’ll get all the answers. :)

I got caught up in the hype and have a deposit on both. The C8 in no way competes with the Taycan, but it is an incredible value for a track car/fun car. The aftermarket support will be endless, and it will be in a category of one for performance value.

I totally agree. I'll wait to see what the final reveal is but I'm happy the deposit is 100% refundable. I know the Tesla 3 is more advanced electronically, and for way less money, but it's just not a DRIVERS car. So if I pull my deposit, there's nowhere else to go except the BMW i8 Roadster?

Nah, there are plenty of good ICE cars out there if the Taycan is not to your liking when it is finally revealed in Sept. No rush to go to an EV if the Taycan is not what I expect or want. Or just stick with my Pano TS for a couple more years.

Agree, the C8 looks really good in the pictures but still haven't seen the actual car. But the mission (no pun intended) for a 2 seat GT is not the same as for a 4dr/4seat car. I doubt it is anywhere the same set of buyers.

I hope the new Corvette rides better than everyone I have driven. They will rattle your teeth out of your head. :)
I do not understand you comparing these two cars, it’s like comparing apples and oranges especially since one is a carbon burner and the other electric. Do you purchase by looks only? Just curious, not trying to be a jerk.....
Well when you have more cars than drivers by a wide margin (2 drivers and 5 cars) you have already gone well beyond the boundaries of practicability. So yes, looks is VERY important to me. All my cars look good and most already go very fast and handle great. So what is the motivator to get a first year EV if it isn’t everything you expect and want?

I like the looks of the C8 but every other Vette I have driven has given me back problems in about 30 minutes but haven’t tried the C7 so perhaps they are better now. But the C7 didn’t do it for me anyway so I was not tempted to take one for a spin. The C8 is way more tempting but is no way a rival for a Taycan way separate vehicles in my thinking. Also I have heard that the C8’s first years production is already spoken for and I never pay over sticker especially for a Vette. Maybe some special Porsche or Ferrari if I really liked/wanted and could not wait for the premium to go away?

I've always wanted an electric vehicle because standing at the gas pump, in my opinion, adds up to hundreds of hours of inhaling fumes and wasting time that I will never get back. I charge my phone, my data tracking ring, my smart watch, etc during down time and charging my car every night, in the same circumstances, seems optimal. I drove the Tesla S back in 2012 and hated the numb, disconnected road feel, that's why I was so excited to learn that Porsche was jumping into the game with a true, electric, daily driver sports car. Going back to an ICE seems so... 2018 LOL

I just read the Car and Driver article and saw the pictures. Performance sounds good, which it should but the styling concerns me. I hope I am wrong. I don't see a car that looked like the "E" Porsche sold me on. No wide rear hips or aggressive styling. It will be a Big Mistake! We will see soon

Jesus just stop it already, no one promised you anything, if you don’t like it don’t buy it. And be pretty damn sure others will like it and buy it. I have never seen a group of men cry as much as some of you .. shit
