A lot
Noticed something in a vid.
The head rest has Porsche logo but I can't select that in the configurator.
Standard is "Turbo S" and the Turbo doesn't have it either...

... and Porsche is only making an EV because of Tesla.
No absolutely not, no large successful car company makes EVs because of Tesla!!!! If Trump twitters C, everybody rolls their eyes, if the EU says B, everybody calls their lobbyist, if Beijing says A, everybody jumps and shouts A! Just remember what happened with Boeing 737 MAX. The short story: Beijing told all car manufacturer that they cannot sell any car foreign or domestic made if they do not reach a certain EV quota. No EV sales, pack up and leave China! The German car manufacturers were so shocked that they went to Merkel and pushed her to fly to Beijing and ask for help. She went and all she could get out was a short extension to the new rule. She went back and told the German car manufactures to suck it up and get to work!

I put a Taycan deposit down end of last year. I really need a EV soon to replace my A7, but I don't buy another Tesla. I don't like the design at all, neither inside nor outside and the inside quality is not good enough, certainly not for that price level.

My dealer said, he is sure, that he will get a certain quota of Taycan cars as soon as they arrive in the country. Since the price is quite a bit higher than expected - but it totally makes sense for Porsche to only sell the expensive versions first to the eager customers - I am slightly less eager to order without having seen the car. Do I want one, absolutely, not much choice anyway!

My concerns:
1. No one paddle driving! Really???? This is the problem with German engineers, just hard to move on to new technologies, if it is not their own invention!
2. No place to put my smartphone, charge it AND use it for navigation WHILE driving! Might be illegal, but it is essential in some countries as the built in Navi becomes very quickly very useless!
3. No clear path on upgrade to more autonomous driving. Basically means throw the car away in a few years and buy a new one! This puts a lot of pressure on the resale value!
4. Very little space between the seats and little connectivity. Designers always need to be pushed to also consider function, not just form!

Probably strange for me to defend the final version of Taycan, as I've been critical since 2017 when the mule body came out....but here:
1. What 'driving fanatic' (note my website URL :) ) really wants 'one peddle'?........personally I can't ween myself off of 3. Taycan regens on hard braking. Probably just me but it makes zero sense to have the car drag as soon as you release gas. I'm sure I must be missing something....probably something along the lines of trends to make the car more 'auto-drive' and remove the driver from the basic 'driving experience'....not sure.
2. Problems w/Nav?.......not a huge concern here....I have multiple Pcar and not too long ago reprogrammed PCMA for more current nav data. But I understand, people like their "phones".
3. "Autonomous driving"........what I said in #1
4. "space"......in a Porsche? If you read other Porsche forums (as I have for 25 years)......one common thread that re-appears with most every body refresh is....."please stop making these cars bigger and bigger" :headbang:

Appreciate the fresh comments.....but as you can see, there is oft a flip-side to things....especially on cars.....and 'driving'.

1. Don't think its got so much todo with trends as it has to do with the characteristics of an eclectic drivetrain...… And getting used to even spirited driving with mostly one foot is not complicated or lengthy.... our feet are quite precise instruments..... However, as long as the Taycan can dail in enough "engine breaking" via the regen system in the Sport and Sport+ modes I am fine and am looking forward to driving it more like a PDK car than the Teslas that I have been driving for the past x-years.

2. As far as I know Porsches today have CarPlay for iPhones at least so if you have one of these phones for nav then it should come up on the screen anyway......

4. I completely agree! If you want a less sporty car then buy another brand... !! And the only thing I think they really missed on the production Taycan… They made the back seat too usable.. It could have been almost as low as the 2+2 setup in a 911 still being a little more of a real seat for biger kids and longer journeys... IMHO :)

Looks amazing Felix!

Have you seen the Frozen blue in person? It looks great on the configurator but I really want to see it on an actual car.
