for those who have placed deposits and recivedthe card with certificate of deposit program.. did you notice the number on the lower right corner..My guess is that Individually numbered these per person. I base this soely on the fact that both papers inside the card have the same # .
Mine Is 60XX.
My hope is that this tells us what number allotment we are.
I noticed that as well. Mine is 1283.

So...I put a $2500 deposit with Hennessy Porsche North Atlanta in September. I asked at that time where I was on the list and didn’t get much of a response. I have received absolutely no communications from Porsche on the program. I was under the impression that the people that put a deposit on the Taycan would get some kind of acknowledgement from Porsche and “regular updates”.

Has anyone had direct communication from Porsche as a result of placing a deposit?
No physical acknowledgment from Porsche but did receive an email directly from them on or around Feb 1 of this year. The email had the subject line 'Taycan Insider'. Interestingly, one of the segments was read - 'The Taycan once again proves that our concept studies are extremely close to series production.' Does this mean maybe the mini Panamera anxiety can diminish?

I received the same email. I’m hopeful but skeptical n light of the similarity between the 992 mules and the production car. I hope I’m wrong. I expect the configurator to go live sometime this fall.

On the waiting list too at Fremont Porsche. List is long! Most of them are Tesla owners. Doesn't help that the factory is minutes close by :(

I may be fooling myself but seems there's far less to hide in a 911? That's a proven winning shape and formula where the risk of over advancement is huge to the fan base. Like for you, the configurator will ease much angst - hopefully.

I put down a $2500 deposit last fall at The Porsche Exchange in Highland Park, IL. They won't tell me what # I am on the list (frustrating!) but assure me that I will have an allocation this fall. No info yet on when I'll be able to configure or order production. I didn't ask about the European delivery, but heard that it won't likely be available. Does anyone have any info on the Euro delivery option?

I really think most, if not all, people on a wait list will get the chance for a very early allocation.

Lots of Tesla owners on the list and a lot of those people will decide to stick with Tesla, IMO.

The Taycan isn't going to reinvent EVs. It's just going to be a nicer, more driver focused EV with likely an inferior tech package (which most of US dont care about but Tesla fanatics will).

from my understanding each dealership in california( maybe all across the USA) were allocted 50. In the bay area CA those allotment deposits were taken up quick. Not so surpring as the average house here cost over 1 million. There were some dealerships like redwood city and stevens creek that sold out super quick and they would not even tell you what number you would be or when you would get a car if you gave them a deposit, but (to their credit) at least they were willing to say that you would not be in the first allotment. My suggestion is that if your interested in getting one try calling / emailing and find a dealership that still might have some of the original alltments avail. hopefully you can send them a CC payment and they send you back a black enevlope.

What is surpring to me, Is that they ( Porsche did not give loyal customers first dibs. Or maybe did and just didnt say anything to non owners.
If i was a dealler I would def consider holding a min of 1/2 allotment for valued/loyal cleints. I cannot a imagine spending 150K + for A panamera hybrid then being told... Sorry but since you waited to long to put down your 1K deposit you will not have access to the first round of the Taycans. that would put a super bad taste in my mouth.

Disclaimer. I have never owned a Porsche, but have always wanted one since I was young ( under 10). Now that I drive a (somewhat) electric car. I will probally never buy a ice car again. The Taycan helps me fullfill both my wants. Thank goodness im going through my midlife crisis now. Perfect timing Porsche. Perfect.

Interesting, I was told I’m number 135 of the Burlingame dealership (Rector Porsche) and I put my $2,500 deposit down in December. I wonder if that means I have to wait till the production run in 2020 to even be able to order?

I think I spoke to them last sept and they were already past 50. Again, im Not 100% positive that each are getting 50. but I did hear that from at least 2 seperate dealers. it just so happened that both these dealears told me that after they passed the 50 mark.
I'm sure that with a high end company like this, they must have some special treamtment planned for loyal / returning customers. otherwise.
If you do call them and ask the, Kindly fill us in on what they say.

$2,500 deposit in Austin, TX and am around # 50. I was told I would get my Taycan in 2021 probably. That delivery date makes sense when i do the math with (number of dealerships x 50 cars per dealership) / annual production.
