Is there someone from Germany who has a quote for a turbo s order?
I have ordered on 5.9. and so far only a non-binding delivery date of the local porsche dealer.

according to the trader's statement, there are still no quotas for turbo s in germany?
I'm beginning to think the TurboS is a car which was only built for journalists...

Just got an email from Porsche Norway that the production of Taycan is delayed by 8 - 10 Weeks due complexity in the production.
I have first turbo allocation at local MI dealer and this is what he told me, no idea if it is accurate or not.

"No delays have been reported for your Taycan Turbo. I believe most of the buzz is about the Scandinavian market Taycan vehicles."

Just a note that I discussed these delays with my dealer in Finland and he said there is no sign, at least currently, that my 4S will be delayed. February delivery still stands. But we'll see.

The Norwegian reservation holders have received newsletters directly from Porsche Norway from when the Taycan was reserved, and not from the local dealer. When I have asked the local dealer about the information in the newsletters, the local dealer has not received/read the information or just got it. Since Norway is a pioneer in EV adoption, about 50% of new car sales har BEVs, car manufacturers including Porsche have made study tours to Norway and got good relation with with Porsche Norway and interest organizations in Norway. (BTW 10% of all Taycan reservation WW came from Norway.)

Porsche Norway has excellent in follow up with accurate information and they have been careful to provide information that has a degree of uncertainty. Probably because of the experience of other EV manufactures. They know that building a new car, in a new plant with new equipments, workers, processes and routines don't necessarily go as planned, and the are very careful to promise any absolute dates.

As far as I understand the delay is not a full stop I production, but the speed is not as planned. When I asked my local dealer if my order will move to Q2 (Q1 was indicated before the delay), he said not necesarily my car. Some will be lucky to receive their car as estimated and som will be unlucky and wait 8-10 weeks. There will some in between.

Earlier I had a discussion of the possibilities of delays with the local dealer, because I was concerned about the Norwegian incentives coming to an end. Porsche and other manufacturers have reallocated orders du to political happenings and prioritize certain markets in the past, and it may happen again.

I just stay calm, because evrything is in the hand of Porsche and things can get wrong. Nothing I can do about that. I main thing is that I frequently receive valuable and accurate information from Porsche. As I said to the local dealer, I would rather wait and get good quality than Porsche taking short cuts to meet dates.

I don't mind waiting really but I think the key takeaway here is that a factory running at lower capacity doesn't mean cars are not coming out at all. Only some portion of the orders are affected.

I think over here the number of cars ordered so far is less than 100 which means perhaps not many are affected by the slower production start?

Norway with a massive amount of Taycan orders, would be more affected by this in a sense. Perhaps not all orders there either, but enough to make it a newsletter.

Anyway, let's see.

I was at the LA Auto Show this morning for the Porsche Club of America preview event. I had a chance to speak to the head of R&D for the Taycan and I specifically asked him about the delay in deliveries. He said he was not aware of any delays and said it may be an area by area issue. Further, I asked him about the base car. He would not give me any information regarding a release date but I did ask if it would be released within a year and he said probably not. Hope this information helps.

Any 'delay' in the initial production is a full stop. There is something wrong with a part of their manufacturing process and they need to correct it before restarting. It's usually a supplier problem, and sounds like it will take 8 weeks or so to fix the problem and get good parts in to restart manufacturing.

Not necessarily.
The new production facility is a so called "flexi line" so it could be just different cars that are infected.
At least we're all speculating.
The only thing we know for sure is the delay for Norway.

From tek.no translated from Norwegian:
Press contact Maren Helgestuen at Porsche Norway confirms the delay.

- It is true that production is not quite at the right level yet, and it will take 8-10 weeks longer delivery time. This applies to all markets. Norwegian customers will be notified by their sales representative when a new production date is ready, she writes in an SMS.

Problem is that March/April/May builds are moving extremely late (June/July) in the build year. It’s fine if the cars are badged 2021. If not, we just took a $30k depreciation hit. Very disappointing.

Here's again the official quote from Porsche. Since they're not referring to any specific model, I'm afraid the best assumption is everything is delayed.

Delays in production

Taycan is our first fully electric sports car. The car is developed from scratch and manufactured in a brand new factory. All Porsche employees have worked with full pressure to start delivering Taycan as scheduled in January. Still, as a result of the enormous complexity surrounding the production of Taycan, we must report that unfortunately the delivery dates are somewhat delayed.

We currently expect delays of around eight to 10 weeks, and a new production time for your car will be communicated through your seller as soon as this is ready. We strongly apologize and guarantee that we will do everything we can to deliver your Porsche Taycan as soon as possible.

Unfortunately there have been so few allocations of turbos in NA, it seems pretty inevitable they’ll be extremely late in the build year, if they’re delivered at all. That said, I think I’d rather have it sooner and eat the depreciation than give up my (hypothetical) build slot for 2021. The increased set of colors, options and configurations starting in June is a complication.

OK Now my sales-rep has indicated that there is a "small" delay in delivery so we'll see what that means but as of our Scandi friends that would probably be.... say...… 8-10 weeks.... :)
