Evening all,

In the UK is the Taycan 4S with a power performance battery eligible for the 3.5K UK plug in grant ?

https://www.gov.uk/plug-in-car-van-grants

If yes, how is this claimed, by who and when?

Also is price quoted on the UK Porsche website excluding this grant?

Thanks

I asked the same thing to my local Uk dealership today as there is no mention of the grant and they couldn’t answer!

I am with business development manager on Wednesday morning so I’m hoping for clarification

I just asked my dealer (Hatfield) as went in to finalise my spec and it was like a swear word lol

They were like oh don't ask us about that we know nothing about grants - we have asked Porsche but are waiting for an answer.

I think they will end up telling us that the cost price includes the grant!

The current UK price excludes uk gov grant - this and the EV charger installation grant have not yet had a decision by OLEV (Office for Low Emission Vehicles)..... there is no reason to think the Taycan won’t qualify for both given all other purely EVs do

that's what in think will happen too, what will happen once we have finalised our finance docs etc?

i think most people would choose to add 3.5k of extras rather than 3.5 reduction in price

Had a call from my Dealership this evening saying that at the moment the Taycan does not have OLEV approval, they anticipate they will achieve this.
they have sent Porsche UK an email on behalf for an update.

The grant is expected to be abolished this year hopefully not before our cars are delivered.

All other manufactures explicitly mention the grant coming off the net price of the car. Porsche will do the same once it gets confirmation from gov. I hope!

Hi Guys
On Monday my dealership advised me the Porsche UK replied to the email they send on behalf to say they will find out in January what will happen regards the OLEV grant.
My best guess is that the grant can not be confirmed until the vehicle is tested/inspected and as there are no cars in the UK this is why it will be confirmed in Jan

as previously stated I think I will just add some toys to the car and thank the government for paying for them

Agree, can pay for most of my battery upgrade ;)

Lfcdan - have you managed to get any UK insurers to provide a quote yet?

No mate I haven’t!
I’m also trying to buy an Etron for my wife (having a nightmare as being messed about by Audi with the price) so got a quote on one and my god its expensive!
So I’m anticipating the Taycan being ridiculously high, i saw on here someone mention Porsche doing insurance so it will be interesting to see what happens with that in Europe and the USA as they will get the cars before the UK

Haven’t confirmed my order as yet as passed on the January build slot I was offered (have paid full deposit already though).... need to call in to dealer again in the New Year; a March or April build slot would work well for me..... I’m pretty settled on my spec myself

I looked at e-tron and I-pace and was really surprised how expensive the insurance was, agree Taycan won’t be cheaper than either of those :CWL:
