I'm curious what everyone who has placed a deposit is planning to purchase since the rumors are of 3 trim levels?

We also don't know which will be built first (possibly the "Turbo" top level model?) and how many allocations of each the dealerships will receive.

I think your last sentence is what is going to drive me to order the top level one too. I'm also guessing those will be the first one built.

It's so hard to say for me.

Having driven the Model S a few times in a few different trims, even the "slower" trims are breathtaking.

If the trims come down to just an increase in speed, I'll possibly consider the base.

If the trims also incrementally increase range, I'll probably go mid.

If the Turbo is anything like the Model S P100D it's a lot of extra money for kind of useless speed. Now if the Turbo drastically increases range or has super unique body styling, maybe.

I assume the three levels are base, S and turbo? Without knowing pricing, I'd love to go top level Turbo. I think all the special styling and hardware bits that the Turbo Porsches make them really stand out on the road.

I predict the trims will differ by both acceleration and range. Just makes sense.

BTW is there no GTS Taycan planned?

I think the rumor is the Taycan S and Turbo trims will be AWD and obviously be better performing (and probably longer range).

And base will be RWD? If so, the base Taycan will be the first RWD EV?
????
All the first TESLA Model S were RWD and the cheaper Model 3 are RWD......

Hah didn’t know that. Thought all Tesla’s were AWD. Do RWD models get better mileage than AWD models at all, since less motors and energy output?

For the long range Model 3 the RWD gets a 15mile premium on the AWD version but i remember that when they added the AWD Model S to the lineup it was actually more efficient than the RWD version which was therefore later discontinued. So suspect it depends on the motor setup and the electronics behind the drive system

This would have a significant impact on my decision of which to get. It will probably turn on the price difference the base and fully optioned S trim.

It would in that you'd get to get a taste of your Taycan early during European Delivery for up to 16 days, but then redelivery into the US could take 4-8 weeks.
