So we know the Model S will be a direct competitor for the Taycan, but what after that?? What EVs do we know coming down the pipeline that will be competition for the Taycan?

BMW is coming with an all-electric i4 sedan based on the next generation 4 Series Gran Coupe, but that'll be a different size/price segment. Are there any larger luxury EV sports sedans coming that will compete with the Taycan?

The Taycan will be part of the C segment. So therefore the direct competitor right now is only the Tesla Model S.

In the future following competitors will join the market:

-BMW i5
-Mercedes EQE
-Aston Martin DBX/RapidE
-Fiske Emotion
-Lucid Motors

...and many more in the next few years.

You said the Taycan is 4.96m long. A BMW 5-series sedan is 4.936m long. So doesn't that make it an E-segment car? Sorry I am a little confused

EDIT: The size of a compact car is defined by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), as having a combined interior and cargo volume of 100–109 cu ft (2.8–3.1 m3).

Is it because the low roofline/sporty stances makes the interior/cargo volume smaller? Very confused here

The E-Tron is beautiful but still in concept form right? Will be interesting to see how well it compares and sells against the Taycan considering they're built on the same J1 platform.

According to PAGJ1's post earlier the Taycan will have the same dimensions as the E-Tron GT

I wonder if using the same platform means that their battery tech (range, capacity) will be the same? Or does it mean they were built on the same chassis but the battery tech development for the Taycan and E-Tron GT will be developed independently by Porsche and Audi?

For people from the US it's right that it belongs to the E segment.
I don't know why but we're at Porsche declared it to the so called C segment (comparable to the US E segment).

If the i5 is based on the iNext concept, then I can't see it being cross shopped with the Taycan. This thing is like a crossover / tall wagon

Have you consider the power needed to charge so fast. Those cables need to handle a lot of power.

I’m suspicious too. I see a new Fisker flop...

Well in terms of the i4 it's been rumored to be coming with 60 and 80 kWh batteries so the capacity will be close to Taycan's 90 kWh battery, but it'll be on a lower price level and performance level compared to the Taycan.
