  1. Glad to be done with Porsche and Taycan

Dude, I’m not going back to research out to make you happy, but they had all kinds of promises as part of the mission e. 320 miles was part of it. This was years ago. I’m sorry, but you’re incorrect. When they finally announced the name Taycan, that’s when they went to 280, bit I figured I could...
  2. Glad to be done with Porsche and Taycan

The rear canners is much better than the Taycan but duh. The inside is nice, it’s different. I paid for the upgraded leather in the Taycan which was nice but not worth it imo. I just liked the brown. The lucid has real wood, wool. Etc. it’s very different. Some things are plasticky, but so are...
  3. Glad to be done with Porsche and Taycan

Actually, when I put my initial money down for the Taycan (which was then unnamed), Porsche was promising 320 miles, software that read my eyes to do things like change settings, and a host of other things that they never actually delivered on.
  4. Glad to be done with Porsche and Taycan

As for those who say the lucid is ugly, I thought so too until I saw it in person. I got it in silver to avoid the two tone look. It looks like a consistent color and not weird. It also came with the latest software where apparently many of the bugs were fixed. Finally, it’s hot 800+ HP, which...
  5. Glad to be done with Porsche and Taycan

Not true. I was one of the first to receive same. Porsche said it would get 320 miles with the 4s and larger battery. They claimed 280 when they actually did their release video. Then the epa numbers came out and Porsche scrambled to say those numbers were wrong. I never even got close to 280.
  6. Glad to be done with Porsche and Taycan

Lucid Air Grand Touring. Just got it two days ago, so I’m reserving judgement. So far, though. I’m impressed.
  7. Glad to be done with Porsche and Taycan

I will do my best to make this short and sweet. I have had two Taycan 4s in the past 3 years. I sold the first to get the second because of issues with the first one, the dealer telling me certain selections weren’t available that were, etc. You can see my prior rants elsewhere. As you’d expect...
  8. FROZEN BLUE Taycan Club

Who said it has anything to do with my masculinity? I am not a tar heels fan, and don't like light blue.
  9. Discounts on in-stock 2020 4S

Back when COVID was hot (note, some people think we're there again), many dealers were offering 5-10% off. I'd start with 10% off, but for that money, you'd better love it. I'd rather build it.
  10. do I really need Sport Chrono?

If you didn't order it, then you shouldn't have sport plus mode, only sport mode.
  11. Just ordered 19.2 kW AC On-Board Charger.

What do you mean "no additional cost," and the dealer said they'd take care of everything?
  12. Porsche Connect Manual [PDF] For Taycan

Thanks, I have the car and haven't seen this either. Unfortunately, it's almost as worthless as the app!
  13. Nicer than I ever dreamed...

Nice choice. I did the same thing without the wood. Wait until you drive it.
  14. Ask a Porsche Dealer Anything

Luke, I'm wondering if you can tell me whether MY 2021 is coming with the colors and features Asia is getting? The page Porsche NA website shows the same stuff avoidable for the 2020, but I understand needed on your post that you've already taken 2021 orders. I'm a bit confused.
  15. Chrono Required for Launch Control on 4S?

I personally think it's an awful distraction from an otherwise beautiful dash.
  16. Taycan Crap Nav

Not to be dense, but did you order the Intelligent Range Manager?
  17. Pricing vs MSRP in US

I did this during the pandemic and negotiated for my dealer to pick up the taxes, which are not insignificant. It seems now, however, dealers have less inventory (of every brand). So, there may not be as much interest unless they really have multiple in stock (and many said they did, but did...
  18. Basic spec 4S - What options are a must have?

I didn't get it, and don't regret it. The side of the car looks better without the electric feature, which requires space for the door. Have I left the door open on occasion? Sure, but infrequently. It's the same thing as closing a gas tank cover.
  19. ‘PORSCHE’ Logo LED Door Courtesy Lights

I got it, and it's not as large or impressive as the same thing on my wife's Audi Q7. I might skip it if I did it over.
  20. Isn't it supposed to be "Hey Porsche"?

It did the same to me. I turned it off, and now just use the button on the left of the steering wheel, which is faster anyway.
