GM follows Ford with NACS Tesla charge port adoption -- time to ditch CCS1 (at least the physcial design)

    Mold inside rear light

Seems that moisture in the tailight is an issue. I had the same and had the light replaced under warranty when I got a center backup light defective warning in the PCM. There are several threads on this forum that discuss this.

GM follows Ford with NACS Tesla charge port adoption -- time to ditch CCS1 (at least the physcial design)

I suggest asking the adapter manufacturer before buying. Here was the response from A2Z: A2Z EV Hi there, The Typhoon plug will work on your car, but you will need to wait for Tesla to give access to their superchargers to Porsche first, which is set to be in 2025. We recommend you...

GM follows Ford with NACS Tesla charge port adoption -- time to ditch CCS1 (at least the physcial design)

Probably for safety or liability reasons since I’m sure Ford and Tesla would be sued if an inferior adapter bricked the car or worse caused an injury.

I purchased the Tesla universal wall charger Upon receiving the recall notice. Received my $600 Porsche rebate check today.

    Lectron NACS to CCS1 adapter

I see you live in Virginia. If you plan on driving your Taycan through West Virginia good luck since there are no EA stations or any DC fast chargers in the whole state except for Tesla, which we cannot access until Porsche gets around to it in 2025. The Taycan is a great EV but not a good road...

Thanks Jonathan. I appreciate your insight but I’ll wait for daveo4EV to translate.

GM follows Ford with NACS Tesla charge port adoption -- time to ditch CCS1 (at least the physcial design)

I guess one upside is that since we are last in line there may be smaller lines at EA waiting for the few open and working chargers.

Electrify America Debuts First Indoor Flagship Station in San Francisco

Nice but it would be nicer if EA would open an outdoor station anywhere in West Virginia.

GM follows Ford with NACS Tesla charge port adoption -- time to ditch CCS1 (at least the physcial design)

Not to defend Tesla because what you say is accurate about their timelines but without Tesla I doubt we’d have a Taycan to drive. Tesla forced the hand of legacy OEMs to launch EVs when they lost luxury car market share. Legacy is looking to drag out the transition. Look how long it took to...

GM follows Ford with NACS Tesla charge port adoption -- time to ditch CCS1 (at least the physcial design)

True, but are you sure Tesla is the holdup since with the Tesla app you can charge a CCS vehicle on a magic dock site. The release says the adapter will work seamlessly with Ford pass which to me means Ford needed time to integrate the software. If that’s the case with Porsche we may be waiting...

    Recent EV Charging Bad Press

Seems like as we approach the tipping point where the general population realizes that EVs are simply better that those with a lot to lose are spreading negative news that is very misleading. If EVs are so bad in cold climates why are 9 out of 10 new car purchases in Norway electric?

Cybertruck can't charge at CHAdeMO either. CCS is being replaced by NACS.

    Lectron NACS to CCS1 adapter

Any ideas as to what Porsche is “exploring“ over the next 12 months with respect to “adapter solutions” since the adapters can be ordered online by any Taycan owner Today?

    EV Macan?

We’ve owned 3 Macans prior to my Taycan and the wife‘s Model Y Performance. The EV Macan is a future consideration to replace the MYP mostly due to the nicer interior but as much as my wife liked her previous Macans she absolutely loves the MYP and frankly it performs as well as our previous...

VW Group (Porsche, Audi, Scout) Commits to NACS

OK. So Porsche dragging their feet waiting to join NACS means existing Taycan owners get to enjoy the benefits of charging at EA for another year. Keep the EA number on speed dial.

I did not realize that. My understanding was that Tesla benefits from the arrangement because Tesla is free to use any improvements made to its technology by another party electing to use Tesla patents.

VW Group (Porsche, Audi, Scout) Commits to NACS

The fact that Tesla has already opened their chargers with magic dock to CCS vehicles using the Tesla app would seem to indicate they would extend that convenience next year with an approved adapter that we all carry in our car. For Porsche to say 2025 for adapter access in their press release...

Unfortunately you are likely correct and it means we have more than 12 months of Electrify America hell. What puzzles me is EA seems to be getting worse. Just today EA near me with 4 stalls, 2 down and 2 derated. Owners on the phone with EA trying to get the car to connect. Several cars...
