Didn't someone say the S and Turbo would be available at launch? If that's true the mid level option could come in under your "first available version" pricing (?)
Yaaaa hoooo! You know what I find interesting is the mention about "final design is not yet known" and then they lead with the Mission E pic. Wishful thinking maybe but I think a pleasant surprise is coming...
I've never been a fan of pumping in fake sound from the speakers the way some current ICE vehicles do this but I can see why it is needed for EVs for safety and feedback. Since this is all invented sound and it is so personal to one's taste I wish they could let you select from a few sound...
This is new territory for Porsche and probably lots of market research and learnings still underway. This was one they had to have to stay ahead of the curve instead of playing catch up from the get go. Even if initial preorders are a big success they need this to stay competitive going forward.
Didn't they only open up preorders for the most expensive ones only too? Or am i thinking of something else. Really great numbers to start if that is the case.
Most people don't even know about the Taycan or that Porsche is coming out with a full battery EV. Once they start hitting the streets the demand will skyrocket I bet. I know many people who are looking for a Tesla alternative.
I like how the production model is shaping up. I just hope that when the camo comes off it doesn't look like a flattened Panamera. Also I wish they kept the concept's suicide doors. That woulda been so unique!
Let's not go 'Panamera' crazy with the steering wheel buttons now lol. I do like the scroll wheel, that and the large display definitely took some cues from Tesla. Looks like the same instrument cluster from the Mission E concept, if only more of the exterior design carried over.
