{Originally posted this update to this saga in the "other" (conspiracy) thread... Should have done it here to keep a running account of my complete experience...}
Finally got my car back Yesterday. (The line item on the battery alone was $54K!)
The Battery was replaced with a newer battery...
Finally got my car back today. (The line item on the battery alone was $54K!)
More DENIAL(above) This is NOT an issue with the 50A outlet/wiring in my home... Seems all my other EV's (4) have never had an issue with it. My battery WAS defective and Porsche identified it on THEIR own and...
In reading some of the replies here...
NO ONE (inc the author of the Teslerati article) is saying that 60% of Taycans will have a "total battery Failure", or a "battery fire", or even anything that might might be superficially noticeable. So saying just because 60% of our cars haven't caught...

BTW - Replacement Battery Part Number is different than the original (I asked my rep). So Porsche may have recognized that improvements were necessary... Rep is anticipating that car will be back in service mid-next week...

BTW... Battery Just arrived from Germany. I will post an update when I know more about the replacement process and how long it takes. (Other posts here on the forums seem to indicate only a day or so...)
Thats nonsense.
I've owned 5 EV's now and this is the first vehicle I've EVER had any battery issues. I've owned a couple for over 5 years and never seen any range or appreciable battery degradation in any other of them.
The impression that these batteries are somehow a consumable is not...
It's not an "anecdote" if its actually happened to me. Porsche is replacing my entire main battery. (Which just arrived a couple of hours ago...)
It's also not a "conspiracy theory" as Porsche already DID check my battery and DID confirm that there was a problem with one or more cells in the...
Well, you can add me to the list.
My 2020 Taycan Turbo S got the "Electrical System" Error on Nov 3rd (Sat) and refused to move. Its been in the shop since Dec 5th as we are still waiting for "parts" to arrive from Germany. I only found out about this "rumour" AFTER I actually had the...
Thanks.
Porsche decided to replace the pack completely on their own. I just brought the car in to find out what was wrong and why it refused to start. (They wanted me to have it towed in but there was no way was going to have some clown drag it up on a flatbed if it was "running". We could...
I had "the update"...
I was also able to get my car started again after I let it sit for a while. ...and maybe would "never hear about it again" ...until I maybe I DID and was sitting at an interstate rest area in the middle of nowhere, in need of a tow, and outside my warranty period...
So when "another brand" has a similar issue its because they are "substandard". But when "Our" beloved brand has this type of an issue its just because I "drew the short straw"...
Take a look at all the folks posting "Electrical System" issues and warnings in this forum because that is...
If "by jumping to wild conclusions" you mean "my car is at the dealership for exactly this issue and will be off the road for likely more than 30 days similar to what other folks have also documented in the other links I have posted" - then I guess I am guilty as charged...
...anyway, take my...
I would take anything I read on the Internet with a bit of skepticism, but one of the reasons I don't visit this forum very often anymore is because of all the incessant "Tesla Hate" and all the unending "My car manufacturer is the greatest so I refuse to accept any other possibilities" (found...
My 2 Yr Old Taycan Turbo S died in the driveway (after simply backing it out of the garage) with the dreaded "Electrical System Error" (Red).
The car would not move (although the Console, Nav, etc appeared fully functional). Seems other folks have had the car towed, but I don't look kindly...
Find the text/logo/icon you want on a web site somewhere.
Massage it with a Raster Graphics package (Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, etc) to clean it up and reduce it to 2 colors (B&W)
Use a Rastor to Vector conversion utility (i.e. Vextractor, InkScape, etc) to convert it to a vector image (SVG)...
