Well, I know a few of you are wondering what a Sport Turismo conversion would look like so here it is. Had this plan before the ST was even a thing.

I had intentionally ordered the Off Road Design Package to make sure the removed fender cladding wouldn’t expose any unusual steps or holes. Turns out there are infact 3 alignment pins per side. Two of which are hidden with the ORDP. The third one is inconspicuous enough that I think a body coloured plug will never have me think of it again, or at least until the next time I’m washing the car. See if you can spot it.

1/27: Added hole plugs
Used these hole plugs and touch up paint to fill the visible hole.

That's fantastic. Where are the other two? For the side marker lights, did you use the parts from the sport turismo?

The other alignment holes are in the front and rear bumper.
Yup, sedan marker lights. The CT ones are slightly longer and stick out more.

Since they're in the front and rear bumper, perhaps a front and rear clear reflector could be fitted over the holes to avoid body work for those without the ORDP and a filler plug for the fender hole.

Otherwise, we could always leave it as speed holes.

Great result and thx for posting- was waiting a long time to see this conversion - excellent! Personally I just cannot go for the ORDP but thats just 100% me - great to see that the initial speculation of perfectly painted arches are in fact the case. Enjoy! Hoping to post my painted arches tomorrow once I pick it up :)

Looks great to me. Well done - leading the way.

One question, please: how are the arches removed? Are they (very carefully) prised off? Ok, that's two. The alignment pins are just that, I suppose. So how are fixed? 3 and counting!

I used a heat gun on one side of the car with ok results. It turned out the other side which was in direct sunlight (and ambient temp in the 60s), actually came off easier by hand. Nothing more to it that prying by hand.

If you've worked with VHB tapes before, it's got a viscoelastic property to it. Once you get it started, you can give it a pretty sharp tug and the adhesive will release pretty quickly. The remaining tape, I used a plastic razor blade with some water to scrape off, then used an eraser wheel to clean up remaining residue. Last, was a bit of WD-40 on a cloth to remove the last bit of stubborn residue since I didn't want to go too long with the eraser wheel and risk any damage to the clear coat.

For the alignment pins, to be honest, I just broke those off. Only the front bumper pin is accessible from the back. If I was removing them to be painted or reinstalled, then the fender liners need to come out to remove the push-nut/washer from the pin.

They're no more distracting than the park distance sensors. I might just disguise that one hole as a PDC!

I love this! I couldn't rationalize the extra $$$ and time for the GTS over the 4S, but I really didn't look forward to the cladding. I do have the ORDP coming on the car (currently sitting in Emden) and this is very exciting to me. I do see the hole behind the front wheel, but my guess is that is relatively easily solvable. Now to get the right lowering solution figured out to get back down to GTS/Sedan heights.

Awesome, I couldn't be happier with the result. FYI, I have the Vivid lowering links installed and the pictures in this thread are in the lowest setting. I set up the links the same length as the sedan links (88mm front/95mm rear) but it seems I have to adjust the front links a bit more as the wheel gap seems a bit higher than the rear.

Did the ride get any worse with the lowering links? I did the research to find that the air springs are the same sedan-to-wagon, but the shock absorbers are different and may limit upward travel in the CT to make room for extension/droop.

Im also interested in a 10-15mm wheel spacer and this will help that match the lip with more reasonable clearance.

No noticeable difference in ride. I recall previous threads have identified that the air spring assemblies are different between sedan and CT. The front is an integrated unit, but the rear has a separate damper and air spring. I have not experienced any suspension bottom out.

I would however recommend an alignment since the rears have quite a bit of camber gain as you get to the lowest setting. Adding a bit of camber back will also get your tires more flush with the fenders, which apart from improved tire wear, also benefits the aesthetics. Part of the reason why I wanted to remove the plastic arches is also to have a more flush look since the plastic adds around 10mm per side without increasing clearance inside the wheel well.

I still have a 4 month wait for my wheels to come in and I spec'd them with 10mm less offset too.

man, after dropping mine around 10mm I noticed it bottoming out over big dips super frequently here in the Bay Area. I ended up reinstalling the OEM links after 2k miles as it was so frustrating- not sure how you’re dealing!
