Not surprising. I bet there are many dealers with even more customers on their wait list. The demand is so big that Porsche has announced they're expanding production capacity to 40k Taycans annually! Check this out Report: Porsche Expands Taycan Production to 40,000 Vehicles

I've had trouble signing up. I used the online entry at Porsche USA and picked my local dealer (Irvine Porsche) and they never contacted me. A few weeks later I visited...the sales guy claimed he had emailed (didn't) but I could sign up there, so I did. They wanted $2,500. Now 2 weeks later, they have made zero contact and not charged my card. Today I called another dealer who said they have about 60 already but I would have to sign up online and they would contact me...his point was you could only sign up at one dealer. This dealer wanted $1,500 now and they said Porsche would ask for another $1,500 when they "accepted" the deposit. This seems a lot different from what I've read here. Feel in limbo...

    Hey guys,
It took me a week of back and forth last July to put a deposit down at a dealer near Toronto, which kinda sucks cause I contacted them a couple days after I heard the Europeans were taking orders.
I got in touch with a sales rep towards the end of July and they took a $1000 Cdn deposit, but I haven't heard or received anything yet.

I placed a $2000 deposit with Marin Porsche in August. 80-ish on the the list. Got the welcome letter from Porsche several weeks back. I stopped by last week and they said they have well over 200 deposits and expect to be one of the busiest Taycan dealers in the country. I don’t doubt it. More than half my neighbors have Teslas. I’m expecting mid-2020 delivery.

My deposit is $2,500 and from what I hear I will be mid-late 2020 delivery. The increased production will certainly help. I wonder when we will be able to start building? Very excited....unless the actual profile is significantly altered from the concept car. If that happens, then I’m out!!

So...I put a $2500 deposit with Hennessy Porsche North Atlanta in September. I asked at that time where I was on the list and didn’t get much of a response. I have received absolutely no communications from Porsche on the program. I was under the impression that the people that put a deposit on the Taycan would get some kind of acknowledgement from Porsche and “regular updates”.

Has anyone had direct communication from Porsche as a result of placing a deposit?

I just heard from my dealer, I’m #123 in their list. My rep said that as far as he knows Porsche hasn’t ramped up their communications to the deposit list. He also said “Porsche plans on building the top end versions first,
with the entry level model to follow. There will be a Cross-over model also.”

Old news but at least it’s consistent.

Well, I'm feeling pretty good about this car after hearing Walter Rohl's impression. I'm still puzzled by their pricing if they are going to set this up as a 'lower end' version of the Panamera. I think that's a mistake - they should price this at the high end IMO. I cannot believe you are #123 on the list. I reserved 15 months ago and I'm #1 at my dealer. I think you'll get a car pretty quickly, but they may be trying to up the 'demand' and price as well...

I have bought 3 vehicles from Hennessy and I pretty much trust what they are saying. Just like the new Panamera, the high performance models come out first. I figure that my Tesla MS will be a little over 4 years old by the time I get one and due for a tech refresh. I am sure that there will be a lot of choices at that time.

    Hi,

If I may ask, who did you put deposit with? I saw your other post saying you've made $1000 deposit CDN. I'm also form T.O. and Pfaff is asking for 5G, which seems a little too much at this time.

    Thanks,

for those who have placed deposits and recivedthe card with certificate of deposit program.. did you notice the number on the lower right corner..My guess is that Individually numbered these per person. I base this soely on the fact that both papers inside the card have the same # .
    Mine Is 60XX.
My hope is that this tells us what number allotment we are.

Unless Porsche bolted a new body on the Taycan platform,I’m afraid the mules minus some taped on camouflage is what we’ll get. I hope I’m wrong but doubt it given past mules vs. production vehicles
