Has anyone heard if you can get the Sport Turimo version as a 5 seater?

The Panamera finally came as a 5 seater with the Sport Turismo version - so I'm really hoping the Taycan be available as a 5 seater as well?

    I have 3 kids so it's a must for me. Finger's crossed! :D

Oh, and one more: Can it be had with a tow hook?

I need to transport my gokart hanger :D

I have three kids too, but I'm hoping the production version of Taycan sedan would have a fifth seat, even a very narrow one for temporary use. The Sport Turismo is more likely to have fifth seat, but I think there isn't any confirmation for this at the moment.

Edit: Even the Mission E Cross Turismo concept has only 4 seats.
Edit2: OTOH, the Audi E-Tron GT concept has five seats..
Edit3: Damn, there is actually only seatbelts for 2 in the back of E-Tron GT, there just isn't any gap between the seats.

Would be a shame to not have a fifth seat in the back considering the leg room would be decent due to the lack of a transmission tunnel.

    So true M.K.! :D

Also a shame most EVs can’t have a tow hook. Only the Model X so far.

I guess that's because most EV owners are not looking to tow and most EV's have not been utility type vehicles. That will be changing with the EV pickups coming in the pipeline though (Rivian R1T / R1S, Tesla pickup, F-150 EV).

The awesome torque of EVs are actually perfect for towing. But I can imagine towing in an EV will drain the batteries extremely quickly.

Not so sure. I pull a big hanger with my R-class and the increase in consumption is very low. A heavy car with a big engine does it with ease. Would be a different story with a VW e-Up :D

And historically (here) absolutely all cars could be fitted with a hook. So I have a feeling most EVs are not «approved» for a tow hook.

No hook = no go for me

A college knows a Porsche dealer and he could tell me that the Sport Turismo version of Taycan will come as a 5 seater (4+1 like the Panamera I guess). There will be no Cross Turismo (even if that's what it says on Porsche's official website).

But regrettably I have very little faith in getting a tow hook on it. Even the Panamera Sport Turismo hybrid version can't be delivered with a tow hook (the full petrol version can).

Extremely few hybrid and electric cars can be had with a tow hook. So when you can't have it on the Panamera hybrid I really can't see it happening on the Taycan :brokenhearted::(

I know this is very much a "nordic problem". But we do need and love our tow hooks.

There is of course a slim chance that Porsche might do it "against all odds". And that's because they know that Norway is the #1 market for EVs in Europe. And they probably also know about our love for wagons and tow hooks. Example from Norway: From all VW Passat cars sold here 90% were sold with a tow hook.

This makes the Sport Turismo more interesting to me. While my two previous cars have been wagons, I’d choose the sedan if there was no difference in seating.

Went by a dealer yesterday. There won’t be a hook on the «sedan» they could confirm.

For rhe CT they had no info.

Since not even the Panamera hybrid (partly electric) is approved to tow I’m not too optimistic...

Both the Tesla Model Y and Model 3 will have an tow option to be added later. It seems one of the biggest complaints against the Tesla designs was a lack of towing ability.

In the future I think most BEVs will have the option to add towing because there is so much demand for it, even with a reduced range the tow option is just to useful to ignore. Also if you sell a car that can not tow and your competitor sells one in the same price range that can, you will lose sales even if in the long run the buyer never tows anything. People also buy things with the options to maybe do something in the future, whether they do them or not.
