It's not just the focal length that doesn't allow for a more direct comparison. You can tell that the aim of the camera in the first image is slightly off-center at an angle which gives the appearance of a different car. In the first image, the window and windshield trims are not perfectly lined up, as opposed to the second image:)

Lining up the photos, it’s a lot closer to the original Mission E design than the mules had me expecting. But at the same time, it’s pretty amazing how a few of those small details changes the design feeling so drastically.

The thread is on my home page at least)
“Sneak peek at double bubble” thread
The link is there under the heading
Unfortunately not specifying which trim but confirms it’s on the ‘production model’ as shown

Yes, because of that they're mules. But just minor things.

I know that the Porsche board had a long ongoing discussion about that. In the end they wanted to stick with their familiar model types. You have to see the word Turbo in terms of the Taycan more from an overall perspective and not from a technical perspective.

The two top are essentially identical except that the photo angle is slightly different. The top photo is taken more to the rear and much lower giving the windshield (windscreen) and rear quarter panel and rear window a somewhat different look. Also the second one appears to be a professionally taken with a telephoto lens, whereas the first one is a snapshot probably close range maybe with an iPhone or Samsun Galaxy. The lighting and possibly slightly photoshopped professional photo make the reflections of light also cause confusion. The third photo looks like a silhouette of the Mission E, considering the larger rear spoiler that overhands the rear taillights exactly like the 4rth photo. For the Taycan to have the huge rear spoiler over the taillights, would mean that the entire rear quarter panel would have to be fake as the quarter panel would have to stick out much more to the rear. to accomplish the overhang, The rear quarter panels and roof appear NOT to be a detached from each other meaning it is highly unlikely or WISHFUL think that the rear quarter panels are fake as it would mean an alteration is the unibody design of the car.. I am also wondering if safety regulations did not allow the rear taillights to be so much covered with an overhang by a spoiler as in the Mission E. Additionally, the front fenders on the silhouette actually go up higher from the height of the fender where it meets the windshield, just like the Mission E and NOT like the Taycan where is is more level. To me, the third is clearly a Mission E silhouette, even if it comes from a Taycan ad.

After all the world “turbo” comes from Latin “turbinem”, meaning anything spinning fast. It’s more suited for an electric motor then for a combustion engine with an extracharge device.

What? Turbo refers to air being inducted into the combustion chamber of an internal combustion chamber. Latin? What, Nero drove a Tesla?

How does Porsche overcome a common understanding of a particular application to create a broader understanding that allows an understanding of this particular application of the word? Even Porschefiles find this usage improper to say the least.

BTW, first post. Happy to meet you all.
