Well, I believe that "turbo" and "turbocharger" are English words. Since the English language is a fluid language...it's completely possible for the word to have duality.

I have no problem with Porsche using the Turbo-name for BEVs. It's a strong brand.

At this point people don't just associate a turbocharger with the "turbo"-model. I mean with a few exceptions all 911s are turbocharged.

Horsepower, acceleration/performance, visual differences etc are the selling points of a Turbo. And that will be also true for the Taycan.

And at least in German (probably in other languages too) the word is synonymous with "fast". So many brands and companies use the word for products. Twitch Turbo, Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Motorola Droid Turbo, a "Turbo-mode" in electronic devices etc

    PAG_J1,

User AlexPorsche quotes a WLTP (not NEDC) mileage rating (apparently info from the factory) much better than what we have been led to believe. Any truth to this? The user is on another Taycan forum whose link seems to have been removed. I did include it prior to this editing of the post, but perhaps it is not allowed.

Of course only if you can divulge!

“fyi - some extra info received from Porsche: Turbo and Turbo S will be presented on Sept 4th, 4S will launch on Oct 15th with min 530km (330miles) WLTP up to 600km (370miles) - if this is confirmed, it would be great!!”

I don't have the final range numbers, but I've heared the range is 500+km for sure.

    Kind regards

That is great news - over 300 miles range if it's actual real-world driving, will make a lot of people happy.

PAG_J1, are the plastic inserts we see on both sides of the headlights part of the final design?

(because if they are, I don't agree they are very similar to the Mission E...)

No, they‘ll be gone. At least that was the case from the Production Cars I saw, and as far as I see the final design now, they didn‘t changed them and I saw the safed prod. car.

With the large ledge/shelf below the front headlights, and if there is no cover, it will interesting to see how much snow collects in front of the headlights while the Taycan is sitting parked for extended periods....

Yes, they will be in the production car. But the side part will be open, because of the airflow (similiar to the Mission E):

    Look at my older post:

And IS THIS THE GLASS PANNEL YOU WERE REFERING TO???? or were you referring to the more general glass panel over the entire surface of the Venting mechanism as was there on the earlier prototypes...…?

Yes exactly. That was the case for all production cars I saw...so I'm Pretty sure this will be gone next week after world premiere.
