You mentioned that the taycan will have level 2 of autonums driving, will Porsche foresee an upgrade to level 3 or 4 in the future?

    Some other questions :
    - will the taycan have android auto integration?
    - is there a model number (e.g. 911;)) defined for the taycan?

It is indeed possible and was fix planned for the Taycan. Sadly Porsche had big problems with the supplier of the induction charging parts that it won't be ready for the release. I think it could be released maybe with the Sport Turismo or with the facelift version.

I don't know exactly if we get OTA Updates on the Taycan. If this will be introduced than it could be possible. But this is nothing official, just specualtions from me.

-Dont have infos on android integration.
-No there is no official model number planned (as far as I know). Internal name is J1 but it will be just the name Taycan.

    Regards

    Could that be ABB?
I heard ABB (is going to) makes the 350kW fastchargers and there were also problems with the delivery/installation.
Is that something you know more about?

The induction charging has nothing to do with the High Power Charging. It's a different kind of charging solution.
So I'm not talking about ABB.
I know what was the problem but I can't give you more informations. All I can say is that it isn't Porsches fault.

    Lol, I know.
    It's "complicated" but I couldn't resist.

Hi PAG, Porsche has mentioned all variations will come with AWD and at least 250miles range inclusing the base taycan. And afterwards there might be a less expensive version without AWD and less range. But i have also heard that the base is actualy the smaller range/ RWD version. Any idea about that? Also any estimations about the battery quality and durability? Is it going to be at the levels of Tesla? (more than 1million km lifetime and less than 10% range degradation at 350.000 km) I will be looking at an EV after few years when the infastructure is a bit better in my country and i propably will be looking between a used taycan, the model S or maybe the bmw i4. (there is tesla presence here, no service or a tesla store, but in like 3-4 years it will most likely be one)

I obviously have no official information as to range, but it’s a near certainty that the 250 mile range estimate for the base model is computed using the European test cycle, which rates mileage at approximately 35% higher than the more realistic EPA American ratings for real world conditions. If Porsche says 250 miles, you can be near certain that the vehicle will have less than 200 actual miles of range. More like 175. Tesla seems to be 6 to 10 years ahead in battery technology of everyone else in the automotive market place, including Porsche. The larger, heavier, less expensive model S should surpass porches range by nearly 100 miles. I’ve owned several porches in my lifetime and I currently own two, I’m no Porsche troll, but numbers don’t lie, tesla seems to have the far superior ev technology.

I'm not allowed to talk about such speculations.

Can't really remember exactly (it's been quite some time since I last saw a production car) but I would say no.
No it won't have suicide doors and it won't be an option.

Yes the Base Version is RWD and will have the smaller battery (I guess bigger battery is still an option for Base version). They'll all have a minimum of 250+ miles range. I don't have final numbers on the range but it will be similiar to the Model S versions. And I think could be better in some version in term of range/power.
Battery quality will be for sure better than Teslas (in terms of lifecycle and stuff).

    Kind regards

I'm suspicious because of two points:

-the gearshift wasn't 3d animated in the production car, in fact the production Taycan had the same gearshift (selector level) as the 918 Spyder.
-When he starts the car there isn't a silhouette of the Taycan at the beginning on the drivers screen. The car I saw had it like all current car's start scenes of the PCM.

But maybe it just saw an older version of the PCM from the Taycan and maybe they've changed it.

    Kind regards

Hmm isn't Taycans battery 90kwh though ? Thus the range should rival the heavier i Pace which can do more than 200 miles in real world review conditions (check the top gear article amongst others)

That's good to hear. A long lasting battery is important for me since i do more than 20k miles per year. Thanks for all the information :) Hmm so the least expensive AWD one will be the 4S huh? lets hope the pricing for he 4S still stays between a cayenne and a panamera !
