Please share how long it actually will take to perform and the outcome (leak detected or not).
Mine is scheduled for next week Tuesday Nov 14, 2023 and I just realized after reading this thread if the outcome is not positive, they will not give me my car back, until the HV battery is replaced. I am not sure if I can mentally process this, if that is to happen. I will at least insist, it has to be in my possession while waiting on the replacement, and not in their parking lot.
SA quoted about 5 hours to do the battery leak test. I am also having a PCM recall/update completed that is another 5 hour or so job. He thought it would be ready today, if it passes the test. He also told me there is no ETA for replacement batteries, so if your dealer keeps your car (if it fails) you may be without for awhile.

Growing pains….wishing for a speedy recovery for all those affected.
Thanks a lot
It took only 2 dans in Bordeaux Porsche center to control my Taycan GTS.
Everything Ok
It seems that only 3% of all cars recalled will need to change the Battery

Got the email that my Taycan was ready for pickup, only to look at the invoice and see they didn't actually perform the leak test. According to my SA, they don't have the test kit, even though it was booked specifically for this and I was told that it would be around 5 hours to perform this test (separate from a PCM recall that was completed). I thought all US dealers should have had the test kits at this point? Waste of my time to drop it off and not be given any indication that this couldn't be done.

Part of the test is to remove and replace the battery's air filter/valve. That piece has to be ordered by the dealer using your car's VIN before they can do the work. There have been a couple of reports of dealers not reading that fine print and taking in cars they can't do the recall on.

I had similar experience, but my car was in for something else, so I figured I was their first and they just didn't read the instructions until their first car was in (so they could bill for the time spent reading/learning the procedure against the recall for a specific VIN perhaps?).

It was this. My husband talked to the SA on the phone and got the info, after he spoke to the tech (he hadn't spoken to the tech before he told me he thought they may not have the kit yet).

I have been asking the service rep for the recall since September. So far, they haven't received the guidelines yet. I have been told to wait for his update.

I had to personally ensure that the kit has arrived before booking the appointment. The parts department said they are not allowed to order any parts of this kit on their own as Porsche is allocating them around for the recall to be performed. I am not sure how many cars are impacted at my dealer with only a few delivered within the time period indicated on the recall, but I am sure I am #1 for a few reasons.

Just Got my Car back from the Dealer who performed the Battery Sealant recall. No issues with my car -a 2023 Sport turismo GTS. Dealer also replaced a pressure valve related to the recall check and an unrelated software update to the PCM. Total Service was less than a day -although dealer had the car a few days before the service was done. They provided me with a Panamera loaner so it was no bother and it may have been the reason for the delay.

I just received a call from my service advisor that they just received a batch of testing kits and they reserved one for me. I will go in on Wednesday.

I was told the kit is VIN specific (i.e. they have to order a kit for specific VIN, rather than just order a batch and allocate at will). If I was to guess, your dealer might say something like this to make you feel good that they "reserved one for you", which implies you were somehow a premium customer who received special treatment above at least some other customers. Of course my dealer could have told me incorrect information, I still think it's more likely they have to order per VIN so that they don't run out of parts and so that parts are not wasted (since Porsche pays for each one).

Yea that makes sense. He did say he reserved one for me and set up the appointment on Wednesday. I believe it is for specific VIN like you stated. That is how they order the door trim for my car after I pointed out the wavey line in the passenger door trim. I am also going back for them to fix the rattle and ambient light issue from the door trim they replaced.

Dropped off my car this morning. Let's hope they'll inform me soon. I was told they would do the battery test and also some PCM update that was pending for recall (The system said my car had 2 pending recalls). Let's see what comes out of it.

Ironically, for the second time during my taycan ownership since May 15th, this morning, while en route to the dealership, the PCM decided to get stuck on the "Porsche" Letting Booting sequence. Told them the PCM was acting up and to check it out. Funny how a extremely rare occurence for myself had to happen the moment I was driving to the dealership. Let's hope the software update fixes it and that my battery survives the test. Really not fond of leaving the car there for a long time if the worst happens. They had no loaner available. At least they gave me a lift back to the town. I have enough cars to survive.

[AM] Dropped off this morning 8:30am for this recall to be performed. Insisted to get it done in one day. Holding my breath, I am going to pass this test. The service manager said they have one scheduled for HV battery replacement, but he did not know for what reason.

[PM] Test started 10:30am and completed 4 hours or so later and SA called at 3:30pm ready for pickup.

The outcome is a PASS
Campaign 1: APB2 Complete, Scope 2
Campaign 2: WPN9, Scope 2 (what is this?)

The bill sheet I was able to only glance at showed almost 5 hours @227/hour with a total of a$1,123 to be charged to Porsche.

I just had to log back into my Profile and everything seems back to my settings and everything worked as expected. Whew!
