Porsche Taycan Unblock the fans on both radiators on right and left IMG_20240525_145307373_HDR

Hope this helps.
No need to remove the bumper to get to the fans.
Just remove the wheel well liner.

I will certainly put into practice your suggestion of importing these two parts to replace these intakes,...,..,
Ok I wasn’t there, so I might be wrong about the bumper. Anyway, lots of earlier traffic. Tooney posted the TSB here. This has the top level replacement steps (see the most recent one).

I think that by removing the wheel arch and the wheel, there is no need to disassemble anything else, but I could be wrong, but logically it will not be necessary to disassemble almost the entire front because of a fan... in fact I don't even know how Porsche engineers designed these air intakes next to the wheels, the way they are it is clear that sooner or later they will cause problems (a Cross Turismo). In any case, I thank you for the information because if you have the fans working or if you put the fans in operation I will certainly put into practice your suggestion of importing these two parts to replace these intakes,...,..,
This has been a long time engineering design flaw for 911's and I suspect other models as well. I have replaced several cooling fans over the last 12 years. They all seized up from gravel debris. Eventually, I covered the slotted areas with a screen, problem solved. BTW, all previous repairs were denied under warranty. Its the same issue with no grill on the front cooling coils. I have replaced one also from a rock getting through. After market grills are a must for these cars.

Have you tried a warranty claim. Even if out of warranty this is a known design defect. In 2023 Porsche change thd design and have replaced earlier fans with modified design including redesigned wheel arch liners. Several owners have been successful in making out of warranty claims.

Thanks in advance for the info Speuk
yes, I don't think the complaint will be worth much... but it's always worth a try... ???‍♂, I will make a written complaint and send the Porsche and see what happens... anyway, I'm thinking of removing the front wheels in the morning, of course, initially putting the car in jack mode, and removing half of the wheel arches and cleaning the fan all around. It's likely that some stone is trapping the fan underneath and see if I can get them loose! It doesn't take much to see that these wheel arches with this inlet opening for the fans and the fans underneath have little space between the fan and the plastic. If any object, stone, etc. gets in there, it will block the fans, especially since they also do it this way on a model called a cross tourism. ??? ... !

It will be more or less in this area that the fans get stuck, because between the plastic below and the fan the space is quite small, which when a small stone or accumulated dirt gets in, causes the fan to get stuck...

At what point will the fan motor be fried after the fan got stuck?

You can free the fan but there will be a point that the motor won't work anymore as well...

Well, that's a question that won't have a concrete answer. The question is, theoretically, the fans only turn on when the battery temperature rises above 35 degrees. Until then, the fans are unusable, that is, they are not working. Without them being in operation, the fan motor is less likely to burn out... theoretically, I don't mean to say that the motor won't burn out...

Fuse?
Indeed, maybe it's good practice to fast charge the car from time to time and check fans are working.

Yes, I also completely agree with you. It's always good to check whether it's working or not... In my case, I was diagnosing errors with Piwi and a week ago the first error came from the fan on the right side and yesterday the error came from the fan on the left side. Conclusion: from what Piwi diagnosed, both fans are blocked

did you find the setting to turn the fans on within PIWIS yet? . maybe good or chatgpt the answer ..I did and it gave me some things to look for but since I don't have PIWIS I can't test. but the fact I could do it using my cheapo OBD2 device , I'm certain youd be able to spin them up using piwis

Depends on the fan type. If it's a brushless motor with electromagnets with relatively low power draw then it can be blocked infinitely with no damage to the "motor".

just had a play around with my OBD2 reader and there is the ability to spin the fans up. which I did and they went crazy. very loud. one side a little rattly and the other seems ok. will give them both a hosing in a bit.
I would recommend doing that first and then spinning yours up. it was in the thermal management section

not an app. it's a foxwell nt530 obd2 reader device I bought for my 911 a few years back, but after updating it seems to work fine with the taycan too.
