Hey everyone, I just collected my new 4S and loving it already. I drop it off for wrapping and ceramic Monday so pictures +++ after that.

One thing though - no charging cable included!!!

Am I a dufus for not knowing this? Apparently for the 25 and on no cable is included, dealer told me it’s because it’s assumed people already have an ev so another cable is superfluous, customer care said it’s because in Europe there’s charging on every street corner!

Have an order in for the Porsche Mobile Charger Connect at AUD$3,095 but then customer service unofficially reminded me that other cables are just as compatible so checking out other options. I’m going to scour the forum for recommendations too.

Will post piccies next week, hopefully Mount Wellington here in Hobart will be open to traffic ?(mid-winter here)

Porsche EVSE (a.k.a. home AC chargers) - PMC+ and PMCC, are way overpriced and do not offer great value. You should be able to get much less expensive, smaller, lighter, and better functioning "charger" for much less.

This is about the environment. Why only phones do not have chargers anymore, cars are next.
I meant that to be haha funny, but I would say that Taycan should come with at least a travel size emergency charger. Mine came with the standard suitcase size charger with all the cables, that I never used even once, and do not keep it in the car (to save weight of course), but would use it if there was a purpose to it when going out of town, but not for me.

I think it’s a bit different between 115v countries a d 230v countries.

I was just walking around london and you need a very simple cable to plug in and pull ac into the car as an L2. Folks literally plugged into lamp posts

For folks in 115v countries they need dedicated 230v circuits and special charge boxes to get level2 charging working.

but long story short but whatever reputable brand you want, it should be <$500 and it could be your take it everywhere permanent L2 cable. In 115v countries a cable like that is effectively emergency only since we can only pull 2kw/hr with a wall plug.

Suis-je un idiot de ne pas savoir ça ? Apparemment, à partir de 25 $, aucun câble n'est inclus. Le concessionnaire m'a expliqué que c'est parce qu'on suppose que les gens ont déjà un véhicule électrique, donc un câble supplémentaire est superflu. Le service client a expliqué que c'est parce qu'en Europe, il y a des bornes de recharge à chaque coin de rue !

J'ai commandé le Porsche Mobile Charger Connect à 3 095 AUD, mais le service client m'a officieusement rappelé que d'autres câbles étaient tout aussi compatibles, alors je vais explorer d'autres options. Je vais aussi parcourir le forum à la recherche de recommandations.

Je publierai des photos la semaine prochaine, j'espère que le mont Wellington ici à Hobart sera ouvert à la circulation ?(au milieu de l'hiver ici)
