From a quick search- 2020-2025 Surge: The entry-level 911 went from around $98,750 in 2020 to about $122,950 for the 2025 model

So that’s about a 25% increase.
Nobody buys a base entry 911, people love to have AC and heated seats, like a 20k dacia does.
When you actually add some options to a 911, suddenly, it's not keeping up with the price increase of other brands ;)

I think she's right as it makes too much sense long term (electric engines are better in every way). Hybrids make no sense to me since you are adding so much more complexity for very little value. The Chinese market is already proving this.

Much like there is a very small, hobby market for standard shift cars, it will be similar for non-evs.

But now they are not a bit more expensive, they are 2x the price :) And a badge is not worth 2x the price, especially not when underneath it's a worse product many time.
agree.

I can compare a porsche to a 30k car from a phone maker, and shockingly, the car from the phone maker thrashed the porsche around the track ;)

Chinese car will demolish porsche in europe if they don't get their act together by next year :)
You can compare it to whatever you like, they’re still not direct competitors.

The Tesla model 3 performance is faster than my Taycan 4S. Significantly cheaper too.

Doesn’t matter. There is more to a car than price and speed.

Unless the options went up by a higher % than the MSRP, yeah it’s the same. 30% is 30% whether you start with a small or a large number.

I briefly looked through this set of slides.

Very internally focussed presentation on my mind.

I could not find a single page that would address Porsche Customer Satisfaction. No activity to respond to feedback from customers.

Mostly trying to be exclusive, but that Is not what Porsche stands for.

Comparing themselves to Ferrari is a joke.

You really were willing to be adventurous or at least fully explore the market!
Yes I tried to look at what was available out there.

I took a different approach this time and considered the car as something that would take me from A to B in comfort and safety. Irrespective of Brand. The badge on the front and back was totally ignored.

There was a risk of course to look at new entries, like Zeekr, Nio, Xpeng, Smart #5, but when looking at warranties and general strength of companies behind manufacturer, there was some comfort.

I looked at the design and build quality, driver feedback, ADAS, parking assistance, cameras, range predictions, charging times.

Very happy with the decision to buy the 7X, and so far it has surpassed my expectations.

I had got one of the the Monday morning examples of the Taycan production and was afraid of being a Guinea pig again, bus so far touch wood.

I used to drool over Christophorus when it arrived in the post.
The latest edition arrived this week with a heavily plastic clad Cayenne on the cover. I quickly skimmed through it and put it in the bin. Plastic Audification isn’t exclusive.
This week, after enjoying it for 7 years, I swapped my Cayenne for a 2025 Range Rover Sport. I was going to swap my 2021 Taycan for a 2025 one, but the dealer porkies and poor prep resulted in me backing out after I’d driven 300 miles to collect it.

When was a Porsche “price competitive?”

They’re playing in a different market (outside of their SUVs).

Zeekr is competing with Hyundai, not Porsche.
When I bought my 996 C4 in 1999, Porsche were quite price competitive. And the quality has been excellent. After 100k km I needed to change my clutch, and that also addressed the famous IMS danger and RMS issue. Apart from this, there has been one fuel pump giving up its ghost and of course some consumables like brakes, suspension etc. Otherwise it has been bullet proof!!
There isn’t much electronics in the car and I guess that is what it makes it so great. The Porsche Accountant's could not get their teeth into anything mechanical.

The Porsche senior classic mechanic that services it just loves when I bring it in for service.
