Last week I installed 3 more Tesla Gen2 80A 24ft HPWCs slaving off the installed original that we've had for many years. I bought them just in time before the eBay vendors sold out. Because I'm vain, 2 of the eBay finds were "Elon signature" (matte black face) variety, just because I'm an Elon...
MusTart is cheap and a fine solution to the issue. I even managed a field-expedient re-use of the Porsche mounting device. As a bonus, it only takes a few seconds to start charging:
One thing I have noticed over the years is that the moment when "favorites" are erased seems coincident with a very long wait for Apple Podcasts or Music to resume.
Often, the 3-5 minutes with the circling arrow ends with not resuming Apple content, but failing over to FM Radio. Then, pressing...
Maybe I should have mentioned that the PCM has acted this way, or worse, for the past 2 years, ever since delivery. Each of the firmware improvements over the years has made a small improvement, but doesn't "fix" the major frustrations.
I've been bugging my dealer service team and PCNA to no...
I was hopeful that WNJ8 would cure some of my complaints about the PCM entertainment woes I've been living with. I am asking about what is considered OK or normal for, let's say, the time it takes to reconnect to and start playing Apple Podcasts where it left off after a restart of the car.
It...
As an update, I thought about my previous explanation and I left out a description that might clarify my distaste for PSCB in cold precipitation use.
The problem is most obvious at SLOW SPEEDS when there is little recuperation braking because of the generator characteristics of the electric...
Perhaps I should have related my experience in °C (1-4) instead of °F (35-40)?? The problem only exists below those temperatures.
COLD & wet is where the problems lie when asking for help from the friction brakes, particularly with snow, slush or sleet (using severe winter service tires) even...
I'm sure it's aggravated by the regenerative braking that doesn't exercise the friction brakes in a Taycan. However, a Cayenne Turbo has no such diversion of brake focus and they complain about it, too.
I only have one Taycan and it has PSCB. I try not to borrow cars to drive in bad weather ;)
This discussion seems to be centered around dry, warm climates and Cars & Coffee concerns.
I am very familiar with PCCB on all sorts of Porsche cars starting with a 996 911 Turbo, then 997 Turbo progressing through Carrera GT, Panamera Turbos, 997.2 GT3RS 4.0, 918 Spyder. 991 GT3RS & GT2RS...
I have the same issue intermittently. I had never experienced this exact issue before until a week ago. It persisted every time I started the car for several days and continued for the entire trip. Then, a few days ago, it began to mostly work with a few episodes intermixed with normal...
My issue eventually fixed itself in the Taycan Turbo.
I'm an electrical engineer, so I like to speculate on both the original condition and the resolution.
1) The original condition seemed to be caused by "too much gain" in the handoff between the PCM microphone and the innards of the iPhone...
These types of things are episodic with my 2020 Taycan Turbo (w/16k miles). Usually, even the worst of them cure themselves via the "15 minute power-off nap" treatment. If one is away from the turned-off Taycan for 10-15 minutes so that the car has "gone to sleep" and is re-awakened from...
