Stones can come into the rear side of the radiator from the wheel well. I haven't heard of damage to the rear side of the radiator but the stones often jam the cooling fan. I would buy a lottery ticket.

There was no push back from Porsche as my car was out of the new car warranty. The dealer had to provide evidence to the aftermarket warranty that the repair was necessary. They then approved the repair.
