Has your AC charging speed been reduced? Mine won’t go above 7.5 kW, whereas before the update it reached 9.5 kW. It never hit 11 kW, even though my EVSE is capable, and with my old Tesla did.

This is certainly new discovery. What is your EVSE and it must be hardwired to be 11kW output capable.

I live in a high-rise with Tesla Destination Chargers (Universal Wall Connectors). Before I had the Taycan, I had a 2022 Model X Plaid, always charged at 10.5kW in the same charger. The Taycan did 9.5kW before and after the update wont go beyond 7.5kW

Teslas show power coming out of the EVSE (UWC), while Taycan shows power making it to the battery, so about 10% lower due to losses. Tesla has the same losses, they just don't show them (you can see them if you charge at say 10.5kW for 1 hour and realize that battery state of charge only went up 9.5kWh). The fact that Tesla was charging at 10.5kW, not 11kW, tells me the volage to the UWC is a bit low, but that is not a problem (EV's in the US can charge down to 208V or even lower).

All that said, it is known that WSS4 reduces the OBC max current from 48A to 40A, or from 11kW to 9.6kW (those are max draws from EVSE, assuming 240V). Sadly, Porsche (almost) always advertised the Taycan stock OBC to be 9.6kW, so to Porsche their OTA just "fixed" the problem where OBC's were allowed to draw more power that advertised.

I've noticed something new. While charing the green circle light located at the charging port is blinking in an animation. I've never seen that before. Is that new because of this OTA?

solid green: ready
Animated green: charging

That was already the case. 😁

Got my WSS4 today.
It's good to see Porsche proceeds with OTA updates.

Yeah, honestly it feels a bit insulting from Porsche—especially deploying this update into a car that’s 6 years old in my case, and that have been charging at that rate for so long. Dropping the AC charging speed that much, now, when it doesn’t really impact battery health, comes across as unnecessary. It almost feels targeted, similar to when Apple started throttling iPhones under the excuse of “protecting” battery degradation.

I feel exactly the same way. Dealer and Corporate pretend that they have no idea - how convenient.

This reminds me of the software updates I had done last year too to my 2021. I used to be able to get 240 miles range, since the updates I rarely get 200 miles driving extremely carefully. I'm convinced they nerfed my car around the time ARB7 was announced.

They might not have been pretending. Porsche comms to dealers and even PCNA leaves a lot to be desired. Worse, when there is no information, various levels make things up too. I've personally heard some hallucinations both from dealers and PCNA representatives in the past.
