I’m very interested in the software.
:
I noticed this Porsche requirement on a PCM update, I’m not clear why such a high current capability is required:
Required tools

Designation Part No./Specification/Special instructions

Battery charger Battery charger with a current rating of at least 90 A

and - if required - also with a current and voltage-con-

trolled charge map for lithium starter batteries.

We always put battery chargers during update, but it changes nothing. It will brick the same. Has nothing to do with voltage.

Even on normal updates (not 9j1.1 to 9j1.2) about 1/6 units brick. Even Porsche dealers experience this on the same rate

So yeah it's quite bad anyways

That’s a crazy rate on failures. You would think there would be a recovery process for the module. I’ve have had updates go south on updating Ford modules, but Ford has a tool where you are recover most modules. It just takes forever to do the recovery.

If you're updating the PCM despite all the warnings and disclaimers you're a special kind of stupid.
Or have loads of money.
And for what?
A few minor changes? Don't try to fix stuff that isn't broken.
But hé, you do you.
Don't say we didn't warn you!
😉
Even if you have to buy 3 PCM's, it's still MUCH cheaper than trading up from J1.1 to J1.2, right? You could get used one from ebay too to try it on.

Some YouTuber is probably going to try after fixing a demolished Taycan

@ct14garage :

Did I read/ interpret your post correctly?

This tool will allow coding a Carrera 992.2 as well (I understand the SFD tokens, and assume you could build it by automating it or assist in the process of obtaining one from 3rd parties).
I am keen on getting Rear Lights to be enabled along with Front DRLs.

On the Taycan J1.1; it was easy with PIWIS3. All I needed was to change 1 parameters in BCM1 module.
BCM1 > sl_at_drl. Change from "not_active" to "active".

I am keen to do the same in my 911 992.2 - would the tool make it possible to do such changes?

And perhaps a few others like Number of times on indicator:
BCM2 > Flasher_light_control > Motorway_flashing_flashing_cycles. Change 03 to xx

let us know once you've tried it.
I never said I wanted to do it myself, simply pointing out the math that makes such an attempt cheaper than trading up for an actual J1.2. It might be even cheaper to just buy a PCM from a crashed J1.2 to start and attempt to pair it with J1.1 car. But for clarity, I don't have any desire to upgrade to J1.2, whether the whole car or just the PCM. Then again, there are plenty of other things I don't care to do, but others do (like PPF your car for example, or add body kits, or lower the car's suspension, etc).

We’re drifting into a very specific limited scope feature of Steur-14 regarding PCM updates.
It looks like at least for now, the risk of a bricked PCM is pretty substantial and the remediation will be costly.
There are much wider capabilities already noted:
Matrix light functionality activation (US) is very attractive to me.
Many other customizations as well, these capabilities are likely gated by payable credits, which to me makes sense, software development is neither free nor easy. And product support and enhancement is a continuous expense.
The guided diagnostics are likely valuable as well.
I’d really like a straightforward way to directly start battery preconditioning before charging.

I believe this will be the first tool for Macan EV diagnostics.
Will it be possible to read the software version installed for the first time?
While my OBD reader (Car Scanner) is great for MEB it is completely useless for PPE (cannot read anything apart from CAN gateway) and most values are gibberish.

First, Great Job thx 🙏🏻
3 Questions,
1. It is possible with the Software to raise the rear Spoiler to max? Like for Photshootings?
2. Can i deactived the Speed limit and set to 260 with the rear Wheel Base Modell?
3. Can i activate FoD Funktions? Like InnoDrive?

Will it work with the Audi e-tron GT, like the tCAN-Pro does ?

Any chance you will make an iOS (iPad version) of this? Since retiring, I dont actually own a laptop anymore. I could probably buy a cheap windows laptop for this, but really enjoy my M4 iPad.
