Insurance Question- Diminished Value - It is my Rivian but pretend it is my Taycan

Hi!

Indulge me? If it had been the Taycan I'm sure it would have been worse!

Has anyone here successfully received compensation from an at fault insurance company for Diminished Value after a collision was repaired but it is now on Carfax as a ding?

How to determine pre then post collision value that I may be able to present.

"Your 2026 R1T with 2915 miles is worth X dollars, but now that it was rear ended by a Progressive customer it is worth X-Y" -- and that Y value is?

You can't quantify lost business from people that don't even consider a car in an accident but that is not measurable.

10 mph rear ending that was adequately repaired in California without frame damage. Tailgate and bumper replace with sensor (replace?) and re-calibration.

The industry uses a 17C calculation (new to me) that allows for a low ball $ figure to be generated by an insurance company. My insurance Liberty Mutual said I could push for that and not necessarily need to pursue a lawyer.
Progressive (the adversary) asked me "Why is diminished value an issue? Are you selling the car soon?"
Soon? Later? Your A hole customer besmirched my car for all points forward.
Progressive has been horrible. They (at first) would not accept fault for their 70 year old customer who rear ended me.

Oh, and ironically my “adversary” insurance company is Liberty Mutual who told me that they don’t believe in the 17c formula and have their own internal process based on “mileage, vehicle age, type of damage, prior history, and condition of the vehicle” and that my situation doesn’t apply due the damage being too minor (door replaced).

Spoke to Rivian today about trading in the R1T and considering the R2 (just to discuss R1T trade in value and how would that change if the collision would appear on the Carfax?) The rep said it does not affect their offer if the repair was adequate. His comments about their trade in algorithm was brief and general. So no help to before and after collision pricing.
