Maybe this explains why I haven’t been able to charge at several chargers I. Auburn, AL. I’ve had multiple calls to EA over a couple of weeks that their stations were not working, don’t show up on the ChargingNA app and the 350kw ones that do work have stopped pushing at the higher rates...
I’ve had my taycan for three months and it is a shit show with EA. Free for three years is useless if the system fails 20-30% or the time. Maybe once has it recognized my car. Probably 20% or more of the time I’ve needed to call EA to get the station working. Several times, the station...
thanks - when looking at my sticker, how would I know if I have that option ? Would that option be agnostic of whose charging station is supplying the power (assuming it can output at that level) ?
Apparently, Porsche just unveiled a new charging station capable of delivering over 19kwh at up to 80A, I believe and can charge from 0 - 100% in around 5 hrs. Of course, I just took delivery of a Clipper Creek HCS 80 unit which delivers up to 64A. The question here is that we knew the...
my experience with Porsche as a company has been awful. We keep getting warning lights including some new messages this week. All Porsche keeps telling me to do is take it to the dealer and, when they have taken information and promised to call back, they haven’t. From constant issues with...
The Taycan fun never ends. The Porsche Connect folks aren't able to help on this and the lines at two different dealers are busy and just cut off rather than rolling over to even a voice mail The service levels remain unacceptable. Telling me to take my car to the service department every...
Hoping this is THE fix. I only had maybe a dozen favorite radio channels set so I gave up and just re-added them. I’ve been in the software business for a long time so these things are not uncommon. It’s been a series of issues in the first 30 days that’s frustrating.
Thanks - I suspected from various posts that this was a larger issue. It was interesting that the Porsche Connect rep couldn’t find anything in the database but more frustrating is their continuing lack of follow up. It’s a disappointing black hole, or worse, if it’s an attitudinal one….
I called Porsche ten days ago to report the issue and they told me it would take a couple of days to get a response from the their technical team. So far, nothing more from Porsche. Guess that expecting any follow up from them is a bridge too far….
Happened to me yesterday in a one month old Taycan. One person shared a potential fix using the joker key so look for that post separately.
Right along there with the power port issues we’ve had are not comforting and downright alarming when considering what could happen with a glitch...
Two weeks into our Taycan and on a long distance trip, we were in a small, rural town and found the right side port failed. We were utterly dead in the water because all the EA chargers anywhere nearby and all along our route we’re only CCS / Combo units and half of them were out of order too...
That is what we’re doing - sometimes it hasn’t worked either like yesterday. After several attempts the charging NA app suddenly got the job done. It’s predictable in its unpredictability !
just sharing a few updates / new info.
While the car did charge nicely once after getting it back from the dealer, we ran into the same issue again where the right port gives us a "right port...inoperative" message. After trying multiple times, we called Electrify America and the situation...
not sure I responded - the issue was with the port itself. The CCS/Combo port would not work with any option. Just got error messages and even once the entire car's electronics acted up triggering the alarm and a few other things. The J-1772 chargers we found (hotel and one at a whole...
thanks - appreciate the information. Interestingly, I spoke to Clipper Creek today about a charger for our second home. They were adamant that the Taycan cannot charge at the 11kw rate and their 50A charger is overkill and (my words - effectively useless) for a Taycan. They said multiple...
Two weeks into it, the charging port malfunctions leaving us stranded over two hundred miles from our destination. Porsche customer support was not what I would expect and no one has bothered to follow up (although my dealer did try to help). The car is fun to drive but I’m feeling...
