I understand but this is no different to the recommended max charge for the HV battery - 85% or 80% - Porsche have not formally informed owners nor have they updated the high water mark on either the app or PCM if this is indeed now a "recommendation" or not.
I suspect this latest guidance is...
The time saving is 50% compared to the 11 kw charger. I wouldn’t consider it small if you have the possibility to use it. For me this makes the difference between using a cheaper destination charger during a 3 hour visit or having to stop on the way back and an expensive 15 minutes super charger...
I think what some folks were suggesting is that the title of your post "Might have to sell my Taycan and give up on owning any Porsche" seems slightly over-dramatic, almost click-bait-like, and completely non-descriptive as to what problem you are experiencing. Unfortunately that happens in the...
I saw a used 4s with race-tex steering wheel at my dealer. It felt very worn, like it had dried out sort of. I didn't notice the age of the car unfortunately, but it put me off of speccing it for my own car.
Im sure if you put some effort into it, it will last longer, but I do think that...
My car was delivered on the Goodyear F1 eagles on 21s and have done 7k miles with them. I then had a courtesy car Taycan on 21s and found the car rode and handled better. It was on the Pirelli p zero elect.
I changed the front tyres on my car to the Pirelli. I cannot stress how much better both...
They are fine – noting special – a balance between traditional Porsche wheels and EV style wheels. I find it hard to really like them but they are practical. If I had 21" wheels – I'd consider these for my winter tyre set.
It's worth mentioning that technically – I believe – its the initial period when the brake pads are new. It's my understanding that you'll experience the same behaviour – in the future – when brake pads are changed. Though, that is probably a long way away for most Taycan's still.
I wish there was a configuration option to just have a "Taycan" badge, regardless of model variant. I think it can add a nice contrasting detail (so in black if on the lighter body colours). I'm not interested in announcing which variant it is. Maybe it would be fairly straightforward to...
My order is now locked in for February delivery. I selected 22kw charger for on the move charging flexibility. I'll do charging at my primary home but I have an apartment for work with no charger. Even if I could change the option I won't. I'll roll the dice. If it breaks then Porsche fixes it...
From my perspective – sticking something as important as this into the configurator but with little context is the problem for me.
Are existing owners (MY21) with this option impacted ?
Can existing owners have the confidence that Porsche would pro-actively communicate any new advice/details to...
Can see you have a wide and varied selection of vehicles (nice) so different for you. This will be my only car and a 4 year “treat” before back to stuffing the mattress so plan a lot of road trips. Simply want maximum charging flexibility away from main routes and also expect a lot of DC charger...
I'm cautious too, so like to stay at least a few cm away from kerbs, and I've found the side view of Surround View good enough for that...but I've not seen it on the Taycan so I'm hoping that's at least as good.
Are you sure? I've seen it done on 911's in the past. Personally I've always de-badged all my cars because I like the clean look, but I can see how some people might like it (my wife used to like to keep the badges on her cars, until few years ago when she decided to order one without badges)...
Yep - Boxsters, 911s all have this feature. Not had it on my Taycan yet(20", RAS). It can be disconcerting on sloping lockbloc damp driveways.
Larger the wheel, lower the profile then the less rubber there is making contact withe the surface on full lock (wheels are cambered and offset) and so...
I’m interested in your comment about surround view.
I haven’t scratched an alloy for years by being (overly!) cautious when parking, so didn’t bother specking it on Taycan. I have a reversing camera on Cayenne but don’t trust it enough to get very close to curbs.
I’ve heard different opinions...
I agree with the recommendation for folding mirrors. With my Cayenne- which is 5 cm wider than a Taycan with mirrors out, and 1 cm wider with mirrors folded (on both cars), I need to fold the mirrors to get through my garage doors. Other than that, while driving I've had to fold them on 3...

...charger, which is DC, or at a house I am visiting which will also be single phase, so I would literally never benefit from 22kW AC, and it is blo*dy expensive IMO.
I think if you are a business owner and plan to mainly charge your car at the company's expense and fit a 3-phase charger at...
Were you feeling the ABS activating?
Winter tyres at 5 to 6 degrees are the best tyre for braking distance at that temperature.
The limit to braking will be tyre grip and if you weren't at the level where the ABS is kicking in you aren't on the limit.
If the car simply feels like it isn't...
