...(I suspect not). Let them know.
Even if you don't use Apple Music, try and see if you get the same QR code error.
They fixed mine by asking Verizon to rebuild the built in data connection.
PS For future lurkers, do this only after 48-72 hours of not working. Sometimes Porsche is down and...
Helpful to know that 12V reset does that but I wanted them to do it first and then learn how they do it. I went to the dealer for the "No LTE connection slashed icon" issue and their fix was to keep cycling the controller unit that is responsible for this like 3 to 4 times until the connection...
...I might tap a friend with someone with a phone from Sam & Son to see if any better luck with Android.
I don't know if its relevant, I'm on Verizon - what are others on that are seeing the failure vs the owner that has the app working (I am tempted to do a network reset to see if that does...
Very easy to do using the instructions above, takes a few minutes and saves a trip to dealer. My "Data Connection Settings" showed full signal and connected to Verizon, but also had the slashed icon on the right hand side of the screen... Annoying, but luckily, 12V disconnect fixed it.
...a slash across for several days, going to the dealer tomorrow to fix. However, SIM status screen show good strength and provider listed as Verizon but it does not have any indication of data status, what's the point of that screen then. I am not comfortable doing my own reset given that if...
Yes you can limit it to your own phones, you need to call Verizon to properly add the box to your account so you can manage it from there. This said however, your Taycan is not on your Verizon plan, so it would be excluded from the extender. I am not sure if there is a way to tell which phone is...
You can read about my experiences with the Femto solution and the signal booster solution here… https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/4g-signal-booster-to-enhance-comms-with-car.17534/post-292506
I’m very happy with the signal booster solution since I’m not a Verizon customer.
This looks like a good one time cost solution for garage and home for Verizon users. One complaint on the Verizon site from the users is that you cannot limit it to just your own phones, so the extender becomes a nice perk for all the neighbors including data. I wonder if you can confirm if...
I had added a femto cell in my garage and it was running under my brother's Verizon account (I don't have Verizon cell service). Unfortunately my brother changed providers and the Femto stopped functioning. I decided to try a signal booster so I wouldn't have to worry about accounts ever again...
...the Apple music/podcasts integrations, seem to have random problems. I thought for a while it was related to the poor connectivity over the Verizon network in my garage, so it turned on without a network, but I have seen it "lose" Apple Music (greyed out) after a brief stop in an area with...
The new phone app seems more Tesla-like on the front screen, which link to old MyPorsche screens. New front screen seems like an improvement. Interestingly a new service showing a 1.5Mbps Verizon data plan I have not seen before.
...pod casts, weather…) were working in the car. Privacy mode was inactive, that was not it. E-sim status in car settings showed connected to Verizon with 2 bars. I pulled the wireless communications fuse in row A slot 11 in the drivers footwell (US) for 5 minutes and after putting back in...
https://www.verizon.com/products/verizon-lte-network-extender/, they provided one to me for free - but i need to return it if i cancel my service. im sure at&t and others also have similar solutions. it creates a small cell site that reaches about a hundred or two feet from the unit.
LTE/cell signal is the problem and won't be cured by a WiFi extender. I'm not sure what kind of extender would get you a LTE signal if you couldn't already get a signal. If it was in fact an extender/ amplifier for LTE I'd love to know the details. Forget the car, I can't even make a phone call...
Totally agreed. My Taycan was out of commission for nearly a week last month with this issue, and it’s the second time that it has happened this year. Both incidents required a dealer visit to resolve.
And like Dave, the thought that this could be an out-of-pocket expense for me in the future...
in my case - sim status shows good bars and celluar network (Verizon) - in the case of Taycan you can't connect to home-wifi - so if the cellular connection is "wedged/hung" apparently it requires a dealer visit to "reset/restore" the modem's sanity…
it boggles my mind that…
this requires a...
