Heated steering wheel with carbon trim, anyone?

When I first got the car I was taken aback. I am quite OCD about fine details, and my surprise at the matte nature, coupled with the fact they didn’t match the exterior carbon bits, was a bit jarring. However, over the last few months of owning the car, I quite prefer it. The look is more...

Heated steering wheel with carbon trim, anyone?

Comparing matte CF on the inside of the door to the shiny CF on the exterior mirror: And just for full comparison, the traditional shiny CF interior on other Porsches (In this case, my wife's Macan): Hope this all helps with your decision. Not sure where in the UK you are, but if you are...

Heated steering wheel with carbon trim, anyone?

I have this and love it. Will post some photos tomorrow, when it’s daytime. The only word of warning I will advise on, that was not obvious to me when ordering, is that the inside carbon fibre trim is matte, whereas the exterior carbon fibre is polished (like the interior CF on other Porsches)...

Is there a standard USB port in my 2021 Taycan?

Or you can obviously source a usb-c to lightning cable for the car. I recommend a braided one.

Taycan vs 911 (Which to buy)

i wonder if going back to a Panamera, now that I have gotten used to the Taycan would prove a similar experience to yours. Either way, this is one hell of a car.

Taycan vs 911 (Which to buy)

I went from a Panamera GTS, which I drove for 8 years….to the Taycan Turbo S. And while it is a whole new level of amazing handling and speed…in terms of practicality, or comfort, it is nowhere near the level. Same goes for beta-testing the PCM or electronics, which just aren’t quite ready. The...

Taycan Turbo S vs. Model S Plaid - really by this much!?

Tesla deserve their dues. They have made a blistering fast car (in a straight line), improved the handling (which was atrocious before), build quality and the repeatability. These are not insignificant things. However, the car drives nowhere near as well as a Taycan….the build quality and...

Tesla Model S price increases to $89,990

It does, but they are haptic. So again, if I asked you to turn the air con temp up and down on a taycan, you probably wouldn’t be able to do it blind. To relegate something so basic, frequent and important such as switching between drive and reverse, to something you can’t do instinctively or...

Tesla Model S price increases to $89,990

I don’t see why not. I don’t have any vendetta against Tesla. If the chargers are more conveniently located on my route, or offer a faster charging option than others, sure.

Tesla Model S price increases to $89,990

I'm sure it is selling well. There is lots to applaud. The speed accomplishment is significant. Especially at the higher end (60-130mph), and finally getting repeatability right, even at low battery charge. The build quality has been significantly improved, so that panel gaps and creaks are...

Tesla Model S price increases to $89,990

Yeah, fair enough. Although for this sort of money, you would at least expect leather seats. ?

Tesla Model S price increases to $89,990

It has very impressive acceleration. Which is “cool”. However, once you get beyond that…. And yeah, Premium is not a word that can be used in the same sentence as Tesla. Still not sure how they were even legally allowed to get away with that wheel, buttons and “gear shift” combination. Dangerous...

For those with HUD any comments?

Looks better, and would never now spec without it. Actually waited for the next MY for this feature, and so glad I did!

Scared to ask... anyone tempted by Model S Plaid?

Tesla has done lots of things to push the EV market forward, but their cars are designed around what Elon finds cool, rather than what makes a good car. The old Model S and X handle horrifically. They may be able to go fast in a straight line, but the second you turn the wheel, the whole car...

    Weird view

You tricked the PCM into giving you 3D surround view. It’s a known glitch, and I can tell you how to repeat it if you are interested. Annoyingly, it used to be standard, but now is an additional option.
