You're lucky. Femtocells (3G only) have been abandoned years ago by all Belgian operators, they tell you to activate voWifi on your cell phone. Does not help with the car obviously. There are lots of websites selling so-called 4G/5G repeaters but in small print you can read they're completely...
I also wrote this in another thread.
New car, connection stopped after 3 months on feb 13.
It came back for 4 hours on mar 28.
It went to the shop on apr 15 where they did the WRV3 update, connection worked again for a few hours but by the time I got home after collecting the car connection was...
Well every day I park in my underground garage all signals are cut (I see them drop from 4G to 2G and then disappear).
I was even thinking that maybe the complete loss of signal every day during 8 hours might be the cause of the loss of connectivity. The connectivity process gives us trying to...
I always have the 4G connection icon, no problems there.
But it's the transfer to the app/server that does not work. Also no traffic information, no music.
Well the updates did nothing for the car connectivity issues. During the update I saw that connectivity was back. But in the 2 hours it took me to get the car back home, connectivity was already dead.
I am going to try a 12V disconnect tomorrow.
Well I got the WRV3 update installed today.
I had no connectivity in the car since feb 14. Just one half day on march 28 it came back and then again nothing up to today.
This afternoon I saw the Porsche app again able to connect. Jay!
This morning they said that not only the WRV3 update was...
No clue.
However it is not because active ride needs 800V power that it consumes a lot during normal driving. But because the reaction time of the system is very low it needs a lot of power when it does intervene.
On bad roads and in fast corners it makes a huge difference.
The auto lift to enter/exit is also a very nice feature for us older folks.
As said above you cannot disable it.
Well in a Taycan Benelux facebook group several gen1 drivers have received a letter from Porsche this week calling them to perform an update on the software. No details yet.
Also something to take into consideration. You can have only 1 app doing the navigation.
So if you have pcm actively navigating, you can show waze on screen but not use its navigation
If you have waze active as navigation the pcm map can be shown but no navigation.
As soon as you start or pcm or...
In the new '25 Taycan you have the android auto display on the middle console.
When using navigation like Waze it shows the arrow navigation with text also on the driver display, but only in the right cluster. No maps can be displayed from android auto there.
For clarity see picture. The map...
This is something I did on our 2018 Macan S running PCM5. Worked like a charm and that car can now run wired android auto, full screen.
As said, useless for the Taycan.
I visted my dealer today because I have connectivity issues on my j1 II. The built-in sim card does connect, the sos light is green but NONE of the connectivity done by this sim card is working: no traffic info in the pcm nav, no google button in nav, spotify, weather and news app are not...
All my Taycan connectivity is down since feb 13. So no traffic info, no weather or news app, no spotify and nothing in the app works.
Went to the dealer today and they checked and it seems that for most taycan and cayenne all those service are down since mar 5. We did see that the car had an...
You need to inspect the underside of the car, more specific the battery protection plate. If there is a dent in it (more than 3mm deep), Porsche will refuse warranty until the battery is replaced. You'll find a case here on the forum.
Porsche was not early to the EV party, but not late either. There is only so much you can test before launching a line. Yes there were many problems, some of which could have been avoided. But what do you expect of a brand new drive train/engine/battery system. Everyone buying a J1 car knew they...
