I've the same background than you. Started with a Boxster S, then switched to 911 and ended with a 911 4S Cabriolet manual ;)
As everybody said a Taycan will never be a 911. However, compare to all the other vehicule that i had (Cayennes, X5, Tesla etc...) the Taycan is still the closest a...
Happened to me twice (all cameras)
Tried 2 fingers reset but didn't work.
Seems to solve itself by parking the car, locking it, wait 2 min (till everything is off) and coming back in.
RAS is one of the better price/quality of life option that you can take for the Taycan.
There's a lot of options for the Taycan but very few enhance your driving experience almost everytime.
That personnal but to give you an idea i ve 58k options on my Taycan (i know that's an overkill) and...
Pretty much everything comes as an option, that's how we end up going way above the starting price
My tesla didn't make any sounds i was ok with it.
My EV motorbike makes a lot more sound than the Taycan (same tech as formula E so far from silent)
The Taycan, doesn't try to mimick...
And sometimes, don't forget to charge to 100%....
It's not written anywhere in the manual but charging to 100% allows cell balancing (in other words to ensure that every cells are powered once in a while). It helps, battery longevity and performance.
This advice is coming from a legit source...
I'd rather have a Tesla Roadster than a Maserati. Build quality should be close but i've more confidence in Tesla than in Maserati for the tech
I would add Rear Wheel steering. The Taycan is huge (much more than a 911) and it helps behaving like a smaller car. For me it's one of the best price/happiness ratio ,)
I had the "spotify" bug for like 5 month, tried more or less everything at the beginning (reset pcm, tried all the sign in order etc..). Asked my dealer to raise the issue to Porsche.
At the end, i gave up as i use it with carplay/android auto.
2 weeks ago, while i was parked waiting for my...
Taycan is a lot longer/wider than a Prius so i would definitively add Rear Wheels Steering as it makes the car feels like a much smaller car (easier to park, to navigate in tight environnement etc...)
The HUD is a nice option if you have driving assistance (innodrive etc..) as it shows directly on the road if they are engaged or not (which is not that obvious sometimes).
Passager display, as others stated is pretty pointless. However it does look better than the non display version. In other...
On top of outside temperature, rain is also a range killer as the road resistance is greater.
Noticed that on all my EV.
Also short winter rides aren't range friendly because the initial energy needed to heat up the battery/cabin and power everything isn't "merged" with distance.
All in all...
To the OP, your range will improve a bit as temperature goes up (and also the car is still on the learning curve)
Also, if you are coming from a tesla (as i did) the range is quite different. I had a big range on city/suburb but it went down dramaticaly on highway (around 160 miles at...
Congratulation for the allocation ;)
One thing i would consider is rear wheels steering. Taycan and Model S are more or less the same size so you are used to it but to give you an idea, with RWS my Taycan feels smaller and is much more city friendly than my previsous model 3 perf.

The current gen of batteries is more or less based on the same tech which is lithium-ion.
The next gen "solid state batteries" is still on testing purpose.
