I ordered my car in Oct 2022. It was delivered 4 weeks ago. My finance deal was quoted at 5.9% when I handed over the deposit and the rate was guaranteed.
I was planning on buying the car outright as I’d loaded up the extras so that the balloon payment was on the low side compared to my...
The sound is omitted from a separate speaker on the underside of the car and is far louder outside the car than it is inside.
I switch it on when I’m in urban areas as it’s helpful to warn others of your presence when travelling at 30 mph.
I also switch it on when I’m on backcountry lanes. The...
Yep, you’re right. I’ve just sat in my car and I can only make it opaque from the front backwards. There are two ways of adjusting it (front to back and back to front) but it switches depending on whether you’re starting from opaque or clear, so it’s the same difference. Sorry for my mis-direction
Yes
Yes, you can shade the roof from front to back or back to front as well as the pre-set patterns.
The best thing though, is that it defaults to opaque when parked and I’m sure it’ll help with heat control in the summer.
It’s a really fancy option which I can’t help but show-off each time...
My door mirrors retract on locking with the key. They don’t when I lock the car with my phone app.
I think that there’s a ‘lock settings’ page in vehicle settings where you can determine what happens when you lock the car.Fold door mirrors should be in there
I run 5 cars. Three have all-season tyres and one only comes out between April and October (BST).
The Porsche, which I drive all year round, has two sets of wheels with winter/summer tyres. Sure, I could get away with all-season but it’s a Turbo ST so why would I? I want to drive it; that’s the...
I run three other cars for my wife and kids, all of them on all-season tyres. It’s much less hassle and undoubtedly more cost effective. The Aston only comes out in the summer, (I hate the idea of covering it in road salt) so I don’t bother with winter tyres for that, but the Porsche is...
I have an Aston Martin Vanquish and a Taycan Turbo. I spend 99% of my time driving behind other cars at or just below the speed limit. When I do get to enjoy the cars, I’m on tight country lanes, where handling is much more important than outright power. So, gas suspension a must, rear wheel...
I’ve had chalk and mission e wheels which I’ve had in gloss black. But I’ve then had door handles, window surrounds, sports pack inserts, wing mirror bases etc. etc. in gloss black too. Goes really well with the chalk/black interior.
The car got to the detailers mid December and had front end...
I have a brand new (2023) TST. I’ve done 300 miles and it’s starting to present a very similar (intermittent) fault. It’s interesting that people talk about what happens when things get warm because it’s not been above 7°c here so far. Dealership opens tomorrow so will book it in. Looking...
To clarify.
in the UK we have a ‘Highway Code’. (Guidelines as to safe driving). It’s this, not me, that suggests stopping every two hours on long trips. Maybe you agree with it, maybe not, but it ‘makes sense’ to me.
if you start at 80% and drive 120 miles, you’ll have 30% left, not 50%. So...
I totally get that. I’m guessing that, until the charging network can be relied upon, people will have to be conservative. Hopefully it’ll get easier. It’s a nightmare in the UK too, unless of course, you drive a Tesla!
So, 100% will give you 210 miles. If you’re lucky with the traffic, you’ll do that in 3 1/2 hours. Are you really going to drive non-stop for that time? To me, it makes loads of sense to stop every couple of hours, let’s say every 120-130 miles, whatever type of car you’re in. So that’s about...
How about explaining to those who choose to charge beyond 80% that the will significantly reduce the life of their car battery and therefore reduce its trade-in value. Doesn’t really matter if it’s true or not as long as it encourages them to move on at 89%
I have an AM Vanquish as my weekend car. I love it and doubt I’ll ever tire of it. Before my Taycan, I drove an iPace for three years and found it to be the easiest ‘car’ to live with that I’ve ever had. (I rarely need to travel more than 200 miles in any one day so wind up charging at home)...
Sorry, I should have put e.g. not i.e. The Race-tex vs leather was just an example. My point was that with a GTS, Porsche pre-define a very sporty set-up, whatever the model. It’s regarded as the ‘sweet spot’ for the purist and I get it, I’ve driven one. It’s a fantastic option and good value...
I looked at dropping from the Turbo to the GTS when it first came out because I wanted an ST rather than CT. But then they released a Turbo ST so that’s what I got (and it’s great). What I found with the GTS was that I had to make loads of changes to have it how I wanted it and it didn’t make...
I don’t think that winter tyres are necessary unless you’re dealing with snow. But a Porsche Taycan isn’t necessary either. If you want to drive it like a Porsche under 10°c you should have winter tyres. Yes, all season tyres give you better range and wear than summer tyres but, if you want to...
