I'm really not getting the software complaints. Personally, I don't have any major gripes about the software and only a few minor ones. It does everything I expect a car's software to do. My, admittedly limited, experience with Tesla's left me unimpressed with the software I found it irritating...
Buyers of the fan-favorite Porsche 911 model are. often between 46 and 65 years old, with the average age being 52. The Porsche Boxster, on the other hand, is often bought by persons who are 47 years of age or fall between 36 and 55 years of age.
Is one I've seen in a number of different...
I checked pretty much all of the boxes on my 4S. Unlike many, I don't like glass roofs so I removed that from the premium package.
The only real advice I'd give is when you are spending this much money on a car is "no regrets". It would be unfortunate to get your car and then regret not getting...
I'm in the "never would have bought a Tesla in the first place group" :) I looked at Teslas several years ago, and was less than impressed with the diving, looks, and particularly the interior.
I wanted a Porsche and if I hadn't driven a Taycan would likely have purchased a 911. If I were to...
I've never been one to worry about trade-in values since I tend to keep my cars for a long long time. I traded in an 18 yo Acura SUV when I bought my Taycan. I always pay cash and figure any car is a write-off. The only time I trade in/sell early is if I really don't like the car. That isn't a...
The video, describing how to prepare for OTA updates is 3 months old. I've been receiving them for several months now. I'd guess there are a number of people that didn't have their cars prepared (in privacy mode/etc.) so they sent out a reminder email.
I've seen the "reminder" when I switch off...
I'm betting it is just a reminder email. The YouTube video is 3 months old. I've been receiving OTA updates for months on my 2022 Taycan 4S. I don't remember having to bring it in for any software updates with the exception of the Mobile Charger update and that didn't involve the PCM ?♂️
Edit...
I'm guessing it is this update: 2023 Model Year update for all Taycans. Mine has OTA software updates enabled, and I have been receiving OTA updates. It isn't currently showing any pending updates. I'll go and check the software versions.
You might find this an interesting read. Tesla has actually adopted the CCS communications protocol standard for NACS so, to my mind, this is pretty much a tempest in a teacup so to speak ;-) CCS vs NACS
Does seem like a low bit for a Turbo S with 11k miles, but the seller never answered questions about the underbody shield and rear window replacement.
My dealer did send me an email wanting to know if I was interested in trading in my 2022 4S for 110% market value, whatever that is at the...
I posted this in another thread: Tesla is opening supercharger network in the US. According to the ariticle they plan on openin 7500 superchargers to non-Tesla's by 2024 with more to follow. Even with that happening I'd have to agree that $5k doesn't seem to be worth it. I do have it on my 2022...
That, according to this article, is about to change: Tesla opening USA supercharger network. Apparently, they plan on opening 7500 superchargers to non-Tesla brands by the end of 2024.
That said, it is/was a cheap option but one that might pay dividends going forward. I have it on my car and...
I do often run Waze in the background for the user-provided warnings, but I much prefer the display and routing of the Apple Maps. I haven't, yet, had an instance where rerouting was needed but traffic in Arizona is no where near what it is in DC :)
I recently stopped using Waze in favor of Apple Maps. I found Waze to be a bit glitchy in my area, not loading, blank screen, etc. I haven't had any issues with Apple Maps. Apple Maps are, at least for me, much more reliable and accurate.
Exactly ? and of course get some clicks to generate revenue with a video that hopefully people will watch and enjoy. I mean, seems to have worked. After all here we are dissecting their video :)
I've been running the PWCC for a little over a year now with zero issues. Our only EV is the Taycan. If we get another EV it would likely be a Macan EV. If it turned out to be something else I'd probably just install another charger on my wife's side of the garage :)
Bottom line is I'm very...
Well, it is one of the smaller cars I've owned in a number of years, but then my main vehicle for the 18 years before I bought the Taycan was an Acura MDX :)
My favorite car of all time was one I had in high school, a 1964 Triumph Spitfire 4. Now that was a very small two-seat convertible and...
According to the dictionary (Merriam Webster) a sports car is: "a low small usually two-passenger automobile designed for high-speed driving." I don't believe there is a "definitive" definition of a sports car and everything from my old Triumph Spitfire 4 to Mustangs has been called a sports...
