Took mine through a winter storm last month. I’ve also noticed the wipers accumulating too much ice to be effective. Given how complicated it is to get them into “service mode” to lift them up, I was hoping they’d avoid that somehow.
My Polestar 2 had a heated nozzle when spraying the fluid...
Mine was delivered this way and I haven’t been able to correct it still, but haven’t tried stuff as strong as the clorox. Even more obvious with the slate grey.
Yeah I was trying to figure this out while on a road trip. All their support docs say to use their app but I didn’t find that any clearer as to which ones would work.
Good to know they’re 800V though when I do find one.
Anyone ever seen anything like this?
My guess is a tiny gap in sealing the side of the panoramic glass roof allowed a tiny bit of moisture in-between panes, ice crystals grew, separating some of the lamination, and then they melted, leaving this pattern.
Was just up in Mammoth Lakes and then...
Would love to hear from anyone in the US with a pre-facelift who gets 4360!
I assume you mean Apple Maps next navigation step metadata appears in the cluster, not actual visual Apple Maps, right? Because I'd love to see Apple Maps second display in this car. One of the things I most miss from...
Everyone does seem very confused about the CAV-specific FasTrak because the rules for it are different from the other ones.
With my thermal glass Taycan I’ve just been using license plate reading. Got the CAV tag for my prior few EVs and just didn’t find all the extra hassle worth it this time...
The instrument cluster will show it on the left, probably right behind your steering wheel, when using the Power Meter view (the one with all the gauges large).
The center PCM screen can show the temperature instead of the time — tap on the current time to change that preference.
Yes and as others have said the dealer is not the authoritative source here. I picked up a MY2024 off the lot two months ago and I was able to purchase ALK from the Function on Demand store. One complication is that the FoD options sometimes don’t appear until a few weeks after handover...
Wireless CarPlay should be using 5 GHz, and if your home is connected on 2.4 GHzthat seems pretty doable from one module too. Some can do multiple connections on different antennae, depending. But it could be that there are two separate radio modules now who knows.
Yes the car has separate software profiles, which are linked to separate Porsche accounts. The first linked account has the ability to invite other Porsche accounts, which then can make their own profiles.
I haven’t figured out how to specifically assign a key to a profile (like Polestar 2)...
The reason I'm quite confident that it will roll out to VAG eventually is because I believe Elon was waiting until every single manufacturer signed on before firing most of the Supercharger team.
He wanted all that ink dry enough that no one would dare back out. I'm pretty sure the...
Thanks for this comparison, it helps to know where some things stand!
My previous vehicle was a Polestar 2 — it had Apple Maps in the instrument cluster, but few other advanced CarPlay features. (No wireless, no EV routing, no navigation metadata in tile view)
When you'd choose the maps...
This is a great question. I wish Apple policed notifications like they used to, "your car alarm is going off" should not be given the same priority as "we're announcing a slightly different variant of a car".
Not sure what you mean by this? VW Group signed on just like all the other brands. It’s much further back in the line though. Tesla is rolling out access in order of when the brands signed. (And it’s all much slower since most of the Supercharger team was laid off after everyone signed on.)
From 2016 through 2019, they charged for CarPlay after delivery. At least in later years it was an annual fee. There may have been other features in that timeframe. But that was the “famously” I was referring to because it was pretty controversial in my social circles. Like, BMW making software...
I’d love to learn more about this. I know it historically was, but wasn’t aware of ongoing funding at the scale China did for Made in China 2025.
Edit: To be clear, I’d obviously prefer free. But I think it’s valid for them to explore the question. If charging existing customers for new...
I certainly think it should be free, but I just want to explore this a little bit:
Tesla might be a bit of a special case for a number of reasons but they’ve historically struggled with finances, being saved regularly by personal, government, and stock market bail outs. (The latter of which I’m...
I was eventually able to convince the local dealer to get me the 220V cable. They tried to pin it on the selling dealer, and the selling dealer said local dealer (I leased it from SoCal but am in NorCal). Too much back-and-forth. Regardless I have it now. One of the silly backwards-facing ones...
