    Ferrari Luce EV

I am pretty sure that I neither said nor implied that my opinion was more important or valid than anyone else’s. My only comment was on the quality and layout IMO of my interior in the 296 vs other Ferrari’s

    Ferrari Luce EV

@f1eng That’s so funny…Firstly there was no mention about carbon fibre at all. Secondly, anyone that has ever had an opportunity to configure a Ferrari knows that you don’t get any carbon fibre trim/embellishment for free - it’s a personal choice and if you choose it that’s entirely up to you...

    Ferrari Luce EV

That’s pretty funny, but I guess he made a pretty good living from it.

Nice choice and the same idea my neighbour had. His only mistake was buying a green one, which really does no justice to the car - but he’s happy with it so that’s all that matters.

    Ferrari Luce EV

You are right in that it’s your opinion but I disagree with it. My 296 interior is absolutely stunning and flawless in design execution - even the touch controls on the steering wheel (which I initially hated) work great now - not perfect but usable once you learn how to use them.

The 296 is an amazing car however. It really is superb in every way. I agree they take a hit compared to others, but who knows how they will do as they age. There really is no comparison with other Ferraris and the design is beautiful, especially compared to anything newer so far from Ferrari.

GTS Ride Quality with or without Active Ride

True but not entirely correct. You are also comparing a GTS with 4S. Totally different propositions where it comes to suspension feel and setup. The GTS is naturally firmer than a 4S regardless of whether it is with Active Ride or not.

Returning My Taycan – Tyre Advice Needed (and a Bit of a Rant)

One of the best cars I ever owned and had zero issues. Probably not what you want to hear but for context, not everyone has had the experience you have. I think you should just replace one tyre and chance it. The worst they can do is moan at you but after all the issues including Porsche...

If I don’t drive the car for six months, will the 12V battery run out of power?

Yep - but I only had it plugged in just in case I needed to remotely force a charge on the car - I did not need to as there was hardly no battery discharge in the period. By the way, this was over Winter in the UK as well!

If I don’t drive the car for six months, will the 12V battery run out of power?

You don't need a trickle charger. If the main battery is charged and your s/w is up to date, you can leave it alone. I had my car in the garage for over 3 months and never touched it. It had automatically gone into some kind of hibernating mode and woke up perfectly fine. The only other...

    Seized Cooling Fans

You mean the radiator fans? If so this is common and normally associated with small stones getting caught between the fan blades. Just needs a clear out normally as opposed to an actual fan motor issue.

    Very low recuperation

Several factors at play potentially. For instance... 1) 100% charged battery - no real recuperation until there is spare capacity to charge in to. 2) Initial few miles of scrub/cleaning the disks means no real initial recuperation but shouldn't be 30mins.

GTS value, filter, recalls, Fob ….

Nope - it’s true from what we are hearing as we have been involved in some of the s/w work.

GTS value, filter, recalls, Fob ….

EV Boxster will probably be delayed. They are having thermal challenges with the battery pack setup apparently - and on top, the company they were working with for the cells has gone bankrupt

    PPF/ceramic on a MY21 Taycan 4S - or too late?

I will never buy a car without PPF again having had it on my last 3 cars. It is just peace of mind and ceramic would not stop road rash in all honesty. In 1 case I bought a car, delayed the installation and got a stone chip on the bonnet. It had to be corrected before PPF could be applied, as...

Porsche reveals first-ever 911 hybrid sports car, starting at $164,900

The 296 is truly amazing. It shocked me how good it was. Amazing response, smooth, really adaptable and amazingly fast steering considering so much is “by wire” - throttle, gearing, brakes etc. Ferrari really have a gem there although of course its a completely different use case… :-)

    MY25s in stock!

Personally I would agree with most in terms of the looks, preferring the original to the refresh. I do wish any vents were real and served a purpose as well. However, in terms of tech improvements - drive train, battery density, regen and particularly chassis developments - I think Porsche have...

Macan battery read across to existing Taycans

There may be some updates that release more capacity but I believe the Macan is going to have newer more dense cells in around the same footprint along with more powerful and efficient motors. There is also supposed to be improved thermal mgt as well - hence more efficiency improvement for that...

Any hope for significant update when MY 2025 introduced?

I think you are probably right. The complexity of all the control units and sub-systems has plagued Cariad which is doing a lot of the s/w work across the VW Group. We are involved in helping to streamline some of that work and its been pretty tough going but there is a lot of light at the end...
