Here is a good example of Night Vision Assist doing its thing on a current road trip we're on in Northern Sweden. This is on our 911 but the technology is identical to the same option we had on our the Taycan.

Had a chance to sit in a Cayenne EV today and have a play with the PCM. I am only familiar with the PCM in the J1.1 Taycan and the current 911.
Some random observations:
While the curved screen is a unique looking thing, the size (the width of it) of passenger display was the most striking...
Hi all — a few of you have reached out asking whether we’d continue our road-trip reports now that we’re no longer travelling in the Taycan.
Targa Trips isn’t EV-focused, but the spirit is very much the same: long European drives, detailed routes, full format photography, and honest trip...
I recently had the Porsche Dashcam installed by Porsche Centre Dublin into my 911. Because it is a Targa, only the front-facing camera is supported. The car did come from the factory with the pre-wiring option, but as I wasn't involved with the install, I have no sense of how much easier or...
When I recently moved to a 911, I assumed I would migrate to using CarPlay full-time. I thought the only thing keeping me on the PCM on Taycan was the HV battery pre-conditioning for fast charing. But that hasn't happened and it surprised me.
The main reason is that the PCM Navigation is much...
Yes, I know I still owe a long awaited summary to our last winter road trip to Norway. Its coming, I promise!
Each of the three times I went up to Porsche Centre Dublin – the only Porsche dealer in the Republic of Ireland – I had a 911 in my mind. I mean, that is what a "real" Porsche is...

We’ve done the arctic Norway thing a few times now. The fact we’re doing it again – is a testament to how much we enjoy this region and it is so influenced by the weather that each trip is a different experience and challenge.
We’re referring to this as a “race” – against...
Just got my wheel swap for winter done today. Pretty pleased with tyre wear levels so far.
The summers are 21" Pirelli PZero NF0 from factory with 32,000 km on them. They likely have about 5,000 km left before they need replacing for a total approximate wear level of 37,000 km. They'll still...

Six months after our winter trip to Norway we're heading back to explore the southern part of the country in more detail. This will be our first time in Norway without snow or transversing the arctic circle. Our aim for this trip is much more relaxing, exploring, walking/hiking and...
Fitted the polarisation filter to our Fitcamx dashcam today. Initial impressions is that it does appear to work and reduce the glare from the dashboard air-conditioning vents.
It does make the camera a little bit more prominent – but it is not as noticeable when looking in via the front...
It is good to see that the car can actually reach its theoretical maximum charging rate of 270 kW – which it hit for a few seconds but I didn't capture a picture of. Excuse all the dust in the summer sunlight!
This is – of course – at the always reliable IONITY network.
I'm a little confused by the "recommended" Porsche Charging Service Plus option. Is it ever better value or a good idea compared to the regular billing plan?
Ignoring the monthly subscription charge that it will eventually attract – it seems that at every stage the pricing for AC, DC or IONITY...
Annoying as I use the web a lot more than an app – being at my macbook a lot more than being on my phone. It was also more convenient to pull down data via CSV than with the app.
Porsche had been refreshing the look and feel of the web My Porsche recently too.
Oh well – sign of the times, I...

Interesting new Porsche home charger – with both Ethernet, Wifi and LTE connection options coming in Q3 2024.

After much drama with a DC failure of our Taycan Turbo S – it was fixed with one day to spare before we head off on our latest winter road trip to Norway.
We have completed our planning and leave early tomorrow morning on a ferry to the United Kingdom – the first of six...
I haven't been driving my Taycan too much recently – and using AC charging from home almost exclusively. Which I think has been hiding a DC charging problem I might have for the past few months.. I’ve tried three DC charging sessions over the past six weeks:
Session 1 (mid November): 150kW/400V...
