What’s going on with taycan prices?

There's no question that the car is fantastic. However, unexpectedly high depreciation does sully the ownership experience and is nothing like what I (or, it seems, many others) have experienced with the marque in the past. The forum is for sharing knowledge and views about all aspects of...

What’s going on with taycan prices?

I tend to keep an eye on WBAC values just to see how mine is going. £100k new in March 2022, now with 8,200 on the clock gave a value of £33,720 just now, £51,290 mid Feb and £51,910 just 3 weeks ago, so they're clearly not in the market for Taycans currently. I wonder if a batch of bargains...

Kerb rash on wheels. Suggested companies to fix them please

I found that my local OPC used The Wheel Specialist - a nationwide franchise. I would assume they have to adhere to mandated standards so quality should be consistent. There's one in Chester with very good reviews. I actually had an issue with my repair when the lacquer started ‘fog’ on a...

    Heating Failure

Not that I'm aware of. There were 2 other Campaign fixes listed for my car when next in the OPC, the antenna plug replacement and the PCM software upgrade. I hadn't been notified of either until at the OPC service desk today.

    How many would buy again?

Depreciation does bother me - I slogged hard to get to the financial position to be able to afford indulgences like the Taycan. Some might even say I'm 'thrifty' ;). I have been a little surprised at how soft residual values have been recently and the lack of value ascribed to those costly...

    Heating Failure

I fell foul of the heater failure Friday on a 22MY 4S. Dealer didn't have a loan car available until mid Feb so suggested booking it as a breakdown with Porsche assist. They have put me into a Porsche UK supplied Macan 4S that was made available today. Dealer says they are now holding...

Dealer wants to contribute £500 to spec the sunroof

But if it cost over £1,000 to spec. the sunroof in the first place then you're not really gaining anything at resale… You could possibly argue that the scarcity value of a solid roof car will make it more saleable. The ‘sunroof’ feels like ‘The Emperor’s new clothes’ to me. It doesn't open...

    Simply Porsche - Beaulieu

It's never 'an unreasonable trek' to visit the mother country. There were some concessions there and a few cars marked for sale, but yes, aside from chatting to the enthusiasts (some of whose depth of knowledge is awesome), and club members catching up with each other it's effectively a...

    Simply Porsche - Beaulieu

Pretty similar. Visitors were predominantly 911’s & Boxters. Good collection of Spyders, Speedsters & 928’s. Far fewer heritage vehicles than I would expect.

    Simply Porsche - Beaulieu

Lonely day there as a Taycan owner yesterday. Felt like 'Billy No Mates', counting less than half a dozen Taycans amongst what must have been close to 1,000 attendees. Even one of the stewards took the micky asking me to 'Rev my engine' whilst queuing for entry. :CWL: Any reason why you...

    CHERRY METALLIC Taycan Club

Some more pics, but not in the rain I'm afraid. Can't imagine it will be too much longer... Still loving the car - every drive is a special event. Handling and refinement are sublime. Performance awesome.

The definitive discussion: adaptive air suspension worth it or not?

45,000 miles on an air suspension Macan and not a single issue. Upside was incredible tyre longevity (42,000 miles on all 4 corners) despite spirited, mainly A road, driving. Very little town driving though.

Rear wheel steering in the Taycan

Definitely worth going for with significant benefits at manoeuvring speeds but noticeably more nimble, say when you go through a roundabout at speed. Seems to take 500kg of weight off the car.

Thx. Will do. It won’t be long I’m sure. ?. The colour is stunning. Have had nothing but enthusiastic compliments so far from all spectrums and I’m delighted with it; which of course is the important thing. But after a career of choosing silvers and greys to avoid standing out in the company...

Thx. I love it. Dealer was a bit more conservative in his reaction but I think it’s one of those colours that people are cautious of ordering but adore when they see it. Have had really positive responses from strangers and (brutally honest) friends alike. Red calipers we’re standard. I didn’t...

New campaign (WNA5) Power Electronics and DME Software Update

Dealer confirmed update is needed. Booked for next week. Overnight stay! Salesman (rightly) complained to me that 'it would be useful if the service team would tell us when these things come through...' Hardly rocket science to send an update email to the OPC 'Sales Team' and 'Admin Team'...

New campaign (WNA5) Power Electronics and DME Software Update

Took delivery of my 4S+ yesterday and discovered the recall notice posted in my Porsche Connect app this morning so assume the patch hadn't been loaded before delivery. Waiting for a call back from the service dept....

    CHERRY METALLIC Taycan Club

Finally took delivery today. :involve: Only have indoor pictures at OPC as it's chucking it down with rain. However, hopefully they provide an idea of what some of the less frequently chosen options of metal roof, body coloured side skirts and mirrors look like. I'll post some outdoor...
