Whether or not they're biased towards Tesla, does it really matter at the end of the day?
The Taycan is a sports car. It's unquestionably the fastest four door saloon round the Nurburgring. And even if Musk makes some low volume special edition Model S which can beat it on the Nurburgring...
It looks amazing, it has insane acceleration and it handles every bit like a Porsche should.
I can't think of a single reason why anyone wouldn't buy the Taycan
Fair, a coupe version wouldn't hurt, but I still think there's real potential for a really powerful super-saloon from Porsche - something to rival the Audi RS6 or top end BMW M5
The weight is a problem, but any slightly lighter, and crucially, faster and sportier version would be welcome. And not all weight savings have to come from the battery. Maybe if more equipment is stripped out and everything else possible is made lightweight it might help a bit
I hope one positive of this is that they keep this generation Taycan in production longer - instead of redesigning it in 2027, maybe in 2029 or 2030 or something. Which would be a good thing, car companies redesign way too frequently, and some truly amazing designs are lost sadly. I'd like this...
That is fair - it looks more like a luxury car with the silver trim on darker colours (which in some ways it is - albeit heavily skewed on the sporting side)
