That's a totally respectable position to take. The logic makes sense.
I guess my position on the Taycan is kind of like my position on the vaccine. You can get it and most likely will be perfectly fine, but given that it was rushed to market with insufficient testing and quality control, why...
Sorry, I pressed Post too soon. Tried to correct via Edit but was too late.
Maybe it's a dealer specific thing. For a lot of reasons, if I ever get back on the Porsche bandwagon, I won't be using the same dealer.
In the case of this particular dealer, I'm told that if I back out of the order...
Yeah, mine was finished on 4/30/21, just inside the April 2021 range for the possible recall.
The "not sequential" bit caught my eye too. Not sure how to interpret that. Seems like if the VINS are random, then the start and end VINS that are supposed to act as boundaries for the recall period...
That hasn't changed -- well, I'm 95+% certain of cancellation, unless there's some huge groundbreaking development to change my mind. I'm still of the opinion that the car isn't ready for production use.
Knowing the status (and reason) for this delay, however, will determine whether it'll be an...
My 2021 TTS has been sitting at the San Diego shipping port for around four weeks. Ultimate destination is a local dealer in San Diego.
There are plenty of other Porsches in the same shipment that have already made their way to the dealer weeks ago, so it doesn't appear to be customs-related. I...
Good call. I'm pulling the plug on my upcoming delivery as well. Porsche as a company seems to have "jumped the shark." I invested a lot of time and energy into learning about EVs and the Taycan in particular but, at the end of the day, buying/leasing a Taycan is clearly a dead end. It's a great...
Just want to verify. Is there truly no way to permanently disable this "feature?" If not, that would change my "85% sure I'm going to cancel my Taycan order" to a firm 100%.
2021 Taycan Turbo S was built on 3/31/21 and arrived at a San Diego port on 5/8/21. And there it sits to this very day. Presumably awaiting a missing chip. San Diego based dealer is estimating 6/18 delivery.
It's interesting that other Taycans not-yet-arrived at that same San Diego port are...
Question
I'd be curious to know how much money a Porsche sales rep makes when selling or leasing out a new Taycan at full MSRP in the USA. I'm not referring to the profit margin for the dealer, but rather just the salesman's cut.
Any insight? Clearly there are a lot of factors at play here...
Yeah, I have the same question. My Porsche is sitting in a San Diego harbor dock somewhere waiting to be transported to dealer for purchase. Can I assume that this "patch" has been installed prior to shipping? Is it really up to me as a customer to know exactly which patch(es) need to be...
I considered leasing at Veer as well. I spend a fair amount of time at Aria (Javier's restaurant) so being so close would be nice. But in the end, I liked the fact that MGM Signature was fully furnished and that there's a monorail stop at the MGM. People mock that silly monorail but, I've gotta...
Yes, it's possible but not terribly common. I personally live at the MGM Signature. It's a three tower condo complex that's attached to the MGM Grand.
The "condo-hotel" concept was very popular in Las Vegas in 2005-2006, just before the real estate market crashed. The first round of buyers all...
I make the San Diego <-> Las Vegas trip a lot. The midway point where I usually get gas is a small town called Barstow. It's a bit sketchy but not too bad. Everyone else making the same trip stops there too so there seem to be plenty of people around.
PlugShare shows a few Taycan-friendly...
Hi there, I live in a Las Vegas strip hotel where private charging just isn't possible. Cars are parked underground by valet.
What are your favorite safe public charging stations in Las Vegas? What stations should I avoid? Looking for insider tips that might not be available on the common...
