thank you! We installed a home charger shortly after I wrote that and haven’t used charging stations much since then. The last time I used EA, it worked fine, but it has definitely made me wary. No issues at ChargePoint or any other chargers. Still LOVE the car and get compliments on it...
Sorry about this enormous list of issues. Not sure if this will help, but I use the diamond button for Homelink, and I’ve learned that the set-up screen only appears if I press and hold the button down too long. A quick tap yields the results I want, every time.
Thank you, daveo4EV!
This helps a lot in terms of managing expectations, and also because the charge rate now is actually reasonable. We had a weird situation where neither of us was home
when the installer came due to work conflicts, so we’ve been trying to figure everything out on our own...
Thank you! We readjusted the settings on the app and are now getting 8.3 kwh (0.4 mpm) so moving in the right direction. We’ll keep tweaking it, but this is much better!
Hello all, we are new to EV’s and just professionally installed a Chargepoint 50A home charger for our 2021 Taycan RWD on a NEMA 14-50 outlet, 240V. The car has always pulled 130-144kwh at EA via Plug and Charge, and I was expecting 9.6-11 kwh based on what I’ve read here and on Porsche’s...
Thank you! I located the mechanical release but haven’t tried it yet. I’m more concerned about why this is happening, and if there’s anything I can do to avoid it. Usually, if I press the release button next to the plug, the light flashes white or turns red. However, this is after I’ve...
Over the last few weeks, I’ve been stuck at EA chargers 5 times after a successful charging session (either via plug-and-charge or by initiating the charge with the NA app). Each time, I could not unplug the car despite having stopped the charging session on the charger itself. EA always says...
The tint is 35%, and I’m very happy with it, because I ultimately decided that 20% was too dark.
You can select the brightness and color for the ambient lighting. Instead of choosing a single color, the “dynamic” setting changes colors with each song, depending on the tempo. It’s fun!
You will...
Right after I picked it up from the detailer, which was ironically the first rainy day we’d had in months. I just realized I haven’t taken any pictures in sunlight yet, but the ice gray looks amazing in the sun!
We’ve put 1000 miles on our RWD since receiving it 3 weeks ago, and it is all that we need, period. I live in coastal Southern California, which means equal time on freeways, city and suburban roads driving between 30-80 mph. As others have mentioned, if you’re driving above 50 mph, it takes...
I visited a SoCal Audi dealership yesterday while awaiting my Taycan RWD. I didn’t drive it - wasn’t that interested, just wanted to see it. I thought the interior looks better and less cluttered in person than online, but I much overall prefer the exterior and interior of the Taycan. The...
Yes, I rented from Turo. Pricey, but Tesla told me, “You’ll get a test drive when your car arrives.” LOL/sigh. I wanted to experience the yoke, and I’m very glad that I did.
Not a Plaid review, but I rented a refreshed Model S LR over the weekend, because I’ve been mentally going back and forth about the Model S vs my custom RWD as my first EV. The fit and finish is much nicer than the 2020 I rented a few months ago, the tech works pretty well, and the regen is...
Sometime in mid-August. It’s at Emden, but the date has changed twice, so we’ll see. The Taycan will be my first EV and first Porsche, and I cannot wait!
I’m sure you do get a lot of attention - it’s such a gorgeous car, and it handles beautifully. A Tesla pulled up next to me on my test...
Ice gray…saw it on a Turbo and had to have it! Your car is gorgeous, but I have a lead foot and could never drive something that attracts that much attention. LOL
I’m a lady, soon to be a Taycan RWD owner, and have been lurking on this forum for months. Still struggling a bit with the choice between a “more practical due to the tech and space” Model S and the custom order I spec’d, but my husband has the cargo vehicle, and I love driving the Taycan, so...
Thank you! I haven’t had a new car in a very long time - so many other priorities. Very excited about this purchase, and this helps me feel better! For the record, I started this journey convinced I was getting a Model S. I rented a 2020 Model S for a weekend and ended up driving it to the...
Honestly, not in a rush. I can wait. And the RWD’s are flying off the lots around here, so I don’t think I’ll get a dealer discount. It’s really more that:
1) I’m approaching the price of a 4s, especially if I add full leather (considering), and I’m not sure that it makes sense to option out...
Hello all, I’ve been lurking for a few weeks and would appreciate feedback on my RWD spec vs a dealer configuration that is similar. This will be both my first Porsche and first EV, daily driver in Southern California, and I’ll charge at home. We have a large diesel SUV for road trips. I have...
