My MY 2022 RWD suffered the same a couple of weeks ago. I got out and locked the car, and it was OK when I got back in again 10 minuted later. It's off the the OPC next week.
The thing I find disconcerting is that you get no forewarning this was going to happen. With an ICE car, you usually get...
An interesting thread. My guess is that there will be independents prepared to do battery/module swaps and reconditioning at lower prices than the £280+VAT an hour charged by OPCs. There's a lot of margin there. Having seen some of the battery removal videos there doesn't seem to be anything too...
I've had the heater replaced under a recall, despite it working ok. Then a year or so the driver's side heating packed up. Servo motors replaced under warranty.
The HVAC system seems to be another area on the Taycan where Porsche complicates rather than simplifies. The Individual settings are a...
You were right. Turned out to be one of the servo motors. Fortunately Leicester Porsche (who were very good; gave me a Taycan loaner) had one in stock. Replaced under (extended) warranty the same day and all good so far.
Wouldn't touch Halfords after my MoT experience. I called them beforehand to check they can carry out MoTs on a Taycan - some won't due to weight/dimensions.
Dropped the car off on time, only to find out an hour later they couldn't do it. They need to jack the car up when it's on a ramp, and...
This was supplied to me by my OPC specifically for the lithium battery in the Taycan, as I had a couple of instances where it ran down.
It comes with crocodile clips. I have permanently connected it to the 12v with the charging plug poking out under the bonnet.
I'm with Octopus. To qualify for their Intelligent Go tarrif (7p per kWh for 6 hours), you have to connect to a recognised car or charger. My Hypervolt V2 charger currently isn't recognised, but the Taycan is.
You have to subscribe to Connect to enable Octopus to communicate with the car. I...
Ironically my last Porsche (a 964) had a fantastic heater. Virtually instananeous, plenty of heat to defrost the windscreen, toasty feet...
Not so good in the summer without aircon though.
I did wonder if it was one of the valves. Having seen pictures of the plumbing nightmare that is the Taycan HVAC, it's hugely complicated. Another weak point, to add to the rear view camera and the crazy charging nonsense. But I still love the car!
Booked in for 2nd week Jan 🤞
My heater went today too. J1 2022 model. Passenger side works but below par. Driver's side blowing cold. Just what you need when it's getting colder.
And I had the heater replaced in 2024 under the recall.
New models now have 10 years of Connect included https://connect-store.porsche.com/offer/gb/en-GB/taycan_2026/products/bundle_connect_v3
But for me, it's only available as a monthly subscription:
I let my subscription lapse after 4 years. The only thing I miss is not being able to pre-heat/pre-cool the car. Like the OP, this isn't worth much more than around £100 a year to me. The other drawback is it's now moved to a monthly subscription instead of an annual one.
I can't believe the lengths some people will go to get out of paying tax, even if it involves breaking the law. And to save what? Doing 12,000 miles a year costs 360 quid - just a little more than the Porsche subscription for Connect that allows you to remotely switch the heating on!
