Not to mention how much better-behaved other drivers are when I approach in the Taycan... in the Kia I find I have to drive much more defensively as everyone tries to cut me off.
I had a glimmer of hope... saw the green light in the My Porsche app to indicate the car is communicating with the network again! (albeit only to say it's in privacy mode.)
Tried to log in inside the car... nope.
My car is not in a satisfactory condition at the moment, so I have nothing to lose by doing the update.
I have a new Tesla arriving in a few weeks, I will likely move my family straight into that when it arrives.
Setting up scheduled charging on that car is hilariously simple: since my...
Look forward to getting the update but it will have to wait until next month, as my car is currently stuck in Guest mode due to the Porsche Connect / My Porsche outage, and I need to bring my car in for service to receive the big PCM update.
Thanks @AndiL for the super-detailed explanations. However I think you have illustrated my point that the Porsche setup is over-complicated.
Where did I go wrong with HEM, PWCC and/or car settings to never see the car reach the charge level I requested? Why do I need to read pages of system...
It's not a looker, that's for sure! :giggle: However it is quite flat against the wall, unlike the PWCC which sticks out far further than it has any reason to.
The pink bars are the power draw in kWh for each 30 minute block. It is almost dead stable in the first chart, but wavers in the others, sometimes with big drops.
Not sure what the line is.
HEM installed in my meter box, connected to my wifi, and configured with my time-of-use electricity tariffs
PMCC installed in the wall charger enclosure (on the floor in one of my photos above), connected to the same wifi, and confirmed connection to HEM over wifi
Taycan configured with a 90%...
Despite lots of wrangling with HEM (Home Energy Manager) settings, timers and profiles, I was never able to get my Taycan to charge all the way to the 90% I specified in my timer. I decided to rip the bulky PWCC wall setup down and replace it with a Tesla gen 3 wall charger, which is super...
Great to hear there is a solution! I've asked my dealer to contact the Porsche Connect team on my behalf. Getting really tired of the guest/privacy mode prompts every start-up.
Just booked my car in for the PCM update, which should hopefully fix the issue at the same time. First availability? September 8. SIX WEEKS.
Meanwhile... is there any way to get music streaming working in Guest mode?
edit: enabled in-car wifi which let me connect Apple CarPlay again.
Sensational; both sarcastically (that PCM doesn't work) and that we are getting a huge software update.
I just tried resetting the PCM to factory settings, but that didn't work... and since I'm not able to log into my account, I've now lost Apple Music and Carplay. My kids already complained...
I just tried this and sadly it didn't work for me.
When I replaced the fuse (with ignition on as per the steps) there was a brief spark, followed by the instrument cluster lighting up and complaining of a lighting fault. I couldn't find any lights that weren't working, however I was still signed...
Have had this issue multiple times... even today walking back out from the shop to find my tailgate only half closed. For me, the issue occurs when the car can no longer detect the key during the closing motion.
It's strange as the car visibly locks as soon as you press the right button, so...
Same opinion here. ESS was cool for a few days but the novelty wore off very quickly. The car makes enough sound (both inside and out) even with ESS off.
Rear axle steering has been an absolute blessing. It's a much bigger car than our previous family hauler, yet is so much more nimble. Tight...
