  1. Can't get the passenger display screen to stay on when moving

Maybe that’s the rule in AZ - but it’s perfectly legal in Europe for front facing child seats to be in the front (and btw the last stats I saw showed being in a car in Europe is statistically 4x safer than being in a car in the US, so I don’t have a huge amount of comfort in AZ laws). I...
  2. Can't get the passenger display screen to stay on when moving

In the UK I believe any front facing seat is allowed in the front (I think that is 15 months / 9kg upwards, not sure, but a 5 year old is definitely allowed a front facing seat). There is the old wisdom that the middle back seat is the safest as it is furthest from any impact, but I think there...
  3. Can't get the passenger display screen to stay on when moving

Not yet, only just got the car and wanted to use it on the way to school drop off this morning - having told her for the last few months she was getting her own screen :)
  4. Can't get the passenger display screen to stay on when moving

Don't think so. Looking at the manual, it seems to suggest that if you are putting a child seat in the front and leaving the airbag on, it should be forward facing child seat for older children and the car seat pushed back as far as possible
  5. Can't get the passenger display screen to stay on when moving

Will test this theory tomorrow - seems sensible - probably the child seat not resting on the middle of the car seat at all. Thanks!
  6. Can't get the passenger display screen to stay on when moving

Very interesting, I assume her handbag is <30kg! In Europe, the rules are different and the airbag can be left on in modern cars on for front facing booster seats - tests show it's safer
  7. Can't get the passenger display screen to stay on when moving

Aha - you reckon it’s the (lack of) weight? Chair and child must be 25kg-30kg combined
  8. Can't get the passenger display screen to stay on when moving

Can't get the passenger screen to stay on when moving (with my 5 y/o sitting in the front passenger seat on a child seat). She was very excited to have it so she could reach the controls for the radio, etc. Any ideas ?
  9. Taycan Turbo Delivered / Trim question

Very difficult to photograph, and a first world issue as I say. It’s slightly “lumpy” and a bit (we’re talking millimetres) raised / spongy here. Don’t know if this just goes with territory of leather covered dash.
  10. Taycan Turbo Delivered / Trim question

Finally joined the club and picked up my Taycan Turbo ST awesome car 😎 and I’ve noted only minor extremely first world problems so far, but that’s what this forum’s for ;-) Apart from wireless charger being difficult to to access / impossible to line up with my iPhone 12 Max (highlighted by...
  11. Taycan v hybrid options

I don't think this is a crazy idea, depends on what you need / want from a car. The current electric mini is a bit pointless though, unless you use it only for v short trips, at 100m range. The new one coming next year should be decent. I have an Emira on order. You'll be waiting at least a...
  12. Taycan GTS RS Spyder Wheels vs Mission E Wheels

I think the 20” standard GTS wheels look cool, especially given this is an EV. I don’t like the look or (lack of) utility of (to borrow another poster’s description) the watch strap tires that come with the bigger wheels
  13. 150kW on-board DC-DC converter - do I need to order this in UK?

Shell now putting 22kw AC chargers at supermarkets around the UK - inc. Waitrose. Don't get why you wouldn't want to charge twice as fast.
  14. 150kW on-board DC-DC converter - do I need to order this in UK?

works for you certainly not for me. I do perhaps 25 of them a year, often with someone elderly or a young child. last thing I need is an extra half an hour to an hour added to my 4 hour round trip.
  15. UK Deposits £

Not really - You’re forgetting cost of capital. £890 a month is only 11% of the car’s value a year. It’s a crazy deal. I am not sure you could get finance that cheap if you borrowed 100% to buy a car with zero personal recourse. Even if you assumed Porsche’s rate of 6% (which requires upfront...
  16. UK Deposits £

Generally if you conclude the sale virtually (e.g. by email) you are protected, but yes, I believe there are grey areas. Re usage, the answer is obviously easy if you haven't touched it and walk away at the showroom. Certainly at lock it's obvious there are no deductions, which is the point...
  17. UK Deposits £

There is a schedule depending on the car / model for the amount, agree it’s £5k usually for a Taycan. On the refund that’s definitely not correct though. In the UK, a deposit (and the full amount paid) is actually refundable until 14 days after delivery under the consumer contracts regulations...
