This is probably an anomaly. My policy actually stipulates that the car has to be garaged if within 500 meters of my home address between 10pm and 5am otherwise anything that happens during those times are not covered.

Update to my situation: finally used a broker (Lewis Insurance - Alexander Busteed) which was very helpful and friendly. The underwriter (insurance company) is OW (One Underwriting). Premium is $4650 per year. Excess is $3500 for agreed value of $315000 which was the purchase price of the car...

Thanks for this. My Taycan GTS arrives late July. Been quoted 6300 by Shannons and 6000 with Porsche (underwritten by Allianz). Don't know what I'm doing wrong. Garaged, max NCD, no demerits. Going to try NRMA.

Why do this? This is like buying a C180 then replacing the badge with an AMG C63S one. I cringe every time I see it.

Thank you for the input. I don't think it's something I will use. I will ask my sales guy - he's told me in the past that changing specs might delay build slightly so that's the case I won't remove PDCC but if it won't make a difference maybe I will. PDCC is an expensive option.

Thank you for the update. Kind of make me regret getting ordering my GTS with PDCC. I will see if I can still delete the option prior to the car build date.
